Well it's finally time to get my car back on the road again. I'll be doing my timing belt at my house in Elizabeth this coming Sunday and I could really, really use some help from someone (or many) who has done a 1.8t timing belt before. I have a large area to work, lots of tools, and lots of free food. I'll help out with gas since I realize this is a long drive for a lot of people. Any takers?

Mike,

I'd love to come and practice on your car before I do mine in my Jetta, but I just can't.  I have too many projects around the house - trying to get it ready to sell or rent.

Good luck.

It's been a long, long day. Spent about 13 hours from start to cleanup getting this thing  apart and together again. Had a couple of messups.... A word to the wise, don't take out the mount bracket out from the block area. Ever. It's a beast to get it back in. Spent about 2 hours on that alone.

The car runs really well, except for a nasty tick that sounds like the injectors but wasn't there before. Any ideas why this would happen?

I owe Adrian (vdub303) and Andrew @ ar_design a HUGE thanks for coming out and helping me with this. I couldn't have done it without them.

congrats on getting it done.  Glad Andrew was able to help you out, he has messed with those engines enough, he is a good resource to have around.
