HKS type 0 turbo timer install (need help)
« on: June 20, 2004, 01:52:31 AM »
Hey i am new to the world of VW's and as of yesterday new to RMCB5, but I do have a 2002 passat with a 5sp 1.8t. The problem here is that I cannot find the RPM signal wire, speed sensor wire or the parking brake wire, please if anyone can help, i need it.  I went to Audiworld.com but the directions they give me dont work for any of these thre wires. Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hey!  Welcome to the club.  I have not had any experience with these wires/senders, but some others here may have.

Also, check out www.clubb5.com.  We are a local group that sprang up from this group.  With a 13,000+ member forum, someone there is bound to be able to answer your questions.

Hmm, I wish I could be of greater help, but I don't really know what to tell you.  I don't know of anyone that has done a turbo timer.  I know you looked at the tech section on AW, but you might want to post in the Rocky Mountain forum to see if anyone locally has done it.  If so, they'd likely be able to help.  Hell, they might even meet with you and show you just where it is.  They're a helpful group of people, just like here.  Well, maybe not quite as cool, but close.

Thanks tweakedub.  If you can, write up something on it and post it in our Modification forum.  Someone will need this info in the future!

if your car has imbobilizer, then this might be a futile attempt. there is someone out of brazil (think) who makes a imobilizer by-pass, though i'm not sure who.

What i think I just might end up doing is setting the timer to where it always counts down for 5 minutes and then just not worry about the RPM and Speed signal wires just kind of make it work.

That could work. If you could write it up...as ColoradoB5 said, and post it in the tech/modification forum...that'd be great!
