Windshield wiper arm removal
« on: June 24, 2004, 04:56:41 PM »
I was trying to adjusyt my driver side wiper arm since it likes to past the windshield onto the A pillar.  I took the bolt off and tried pulling it up so I could re adjust but it does not want to come off the motor mount.  I tried putting some WD40 and tapped it a bit but still no luck.  I don't want to pull too hard and brake the motor mount point.  Any advice or tips?
Thanks
Rob

hey Rob,

it's actually quite easy, but takes a little patience.
you will need to wiggle, more like rock, the arm where it's hinged to get it off.  It also helps if your hood it open too.

Alan that's the part I don't have time for.  Just kidding.

I'll try it a gain but with a bit more patience.  I did have the hood up but the wiggle part is probably what I need to do.

Thanks

once you get one off for the first time, you'll say to yourself "yeah, that's how it's done!"
After that it should be very easy.

The tip on my arm just flew off yesterday and then the rubber blade flies half way out of the arm making this terrible screeching sound down by the motor joint where it's metal against windshield.
I taped it back on and haven't replaced it yet... 8O
