What are my chances…
« on: June 30, 2004, 01:27:25 PM »
I am taking my rig in today to have my seat fixed – stupid broken lumbar support – an d I am going to have them look at my MAF.

I can not get the light to stay off – VAG code 16486 MAF reading below lower limit – after cleaning it twice.  I am sure the MAF is bad, but because of my aftermarket intake I am worried that it will not be covered by the warranty. :?

So what do you think my chances are for having it be covered?

Slim, sorry to say that. Still, that error you are getting I belive is the same one I had when it was disconnected. So either the MAF is really really bad or something else is wrong.

I guess in leading up to the CEL was your car not running well, namely turbo not spooling?

The car runs fine and I have never had any power loss or issues with the turbo, very strange...

Well if there is a connection problem with the MAF it will basically act like it doesn't exist and the turbo will spool and you will get boost.  I'm suprised you are'nt getting any fuel system errors. Usually you will end up with a too lean error.

Do you have any wya of going back to a stock airbox setup easily?

I was surprised about hte fuel system too.  I though I would get the lean code, but I have not.

Unfortunatly my stock box is gone and I can not swap out the CAI for the OEM intake.

I guess I will just have to see.
