Well we were planning on having a BBQ at Chas's place, but he will be in Maine all weekend, so this is now out.

If anyone has any ideas for things they want to do, please post and offer your suggestions.

Whaaaa...?

Bummer that Chas will miss this and I will miss Chas.  Had looked so forward to showing off my Elegant Green with the black Euro Trim...

Wait a minute - CHAS, COME BACK, YOU CAN'T GO TO FREAKIN' MAINE!?!?!

We're going to have to find someone to give him a good spanking!

Bummer.. I think we should still find something to do... even if it is another night at Dave and Buster's... or does anyone want to volunteer their house for an impromptu bbq? Too bad LoDo will be fubar'd that night.

Agreed on doing SOMETHING that night.

D&B's would work (don't know how they'd deal with 30-40 people showing up on a Friday night with NO notice but...)

Someones house is preferable. I offered at one time but I'm pretty sure no one took me up on it since Longmont isn't exactly close. (at this point the wife would crack my skull if I asked so.... no go here.)  Anyone else willing to offer up their pad?

I didn't learn from Rian's post and did check with my wife, and did get cracked upside the head.  My place is out - Sorry.

We will be moving in the next couple of months and when we do we'll look to have everyone over.  2 of the houses we've seen recently have 4 car garages.    Maybe we'll make it a garage day instead.

I've got a patio and a BBQ -  but it's in Ft Collins. It's available if needed (I can take the head slap from my wife, I'm already punch happy from 20 years of marriage).

hey Alan, I for one think another party at your pad would  be way cool... we could just do it pot luck style due to the late notice, have everyone bring some grub and beer... the only thing I wonder about is parking?

What does everyone else think?

Parking at Alan's place has never been a problem.

That sounds like a great idea.  Alan's place rocks.  I probably will not be able to attend, since I need to get some baby time in and will be at the track all day without him.  In a couple more years, I'll bring him with me though...

Alan's are you going to the track?  If so, bring a map to pass out to those that want to attend.  If not, email one to me and I'll make copies and bring them.

pot luck and BYOB would be great as this is leaving it to the last minute.

There's an empty lot (more like a patch of concrete) across 19th where we could easily park 100 cars and we could take photos from my balcony or roof on to it, if we need to.

I assume we need some time between the track and the party so we could clean up (and I really need to clean up my place) and get food and booze.
I'm guessing meeting at my place around 7-ish???

Yay! I was hoping Alan would offer his place. I love parties in my neighborhood that I can walk *ahem* stumble home from.

If for some reason, Alan's place does not work out, I am dying to play with my new grill that can cook for small armies!  As far as time, I think maybe a little later, like 7:30 or 8 would be better, I know I will be exhausted after an entire day of track.

Alan - Can I bring my 4 1/2 year old terror over to trash your pad?

How is that for crazy?

No seriously I might drop in for a bit, if he is in a good mood.

Did someone say SPANKING? :)

I'm so sorry guys. I am really sad that I'll be missing out this year. I was so looking forward to seeing everyone and having a great track day this year. It figures that this year it looks like we are going to be getting some cooler weather and the turbo cars should run great!

I'll especially miss the out of town folks that I don't get to see that often. I'm sure your car looks even better than before Rusty! I'm really glad that we could all come together and get you up here and on the track. That just goes to show how cool this place really is! :) :) :)

I have a couple of things that might make track day a bit more fun. One of course is my camera mount that I offered to Winston to be used and I also have two more made up and all they need is a Pan/Tilt head to attach that camera to the mount. Available at any photo shop in the form of cheap tripod. The Pan/Tilt heads just pop off and then slide onto the car camera mounts.  The other thing is a large air tank so folks can let some air out of there tires at the track and then add it back in afterwards. Or the opposite, what ever really. Anyhow, it's a nice thing to have at the track. Air presure is a big part of handling on the track.

Just give me a call on my cell 303-668-4826. We can get together tonight if anyone wants to. I'll be home.

Again, I'm really sorry for this guys. I hope you all understand. :)

Well, how much extra time would it be to drop by and show off my black Euro trim before I go to Pat's?  I might do that, depending on how good a time I make.  I better get outta here!  Call ya later - Rusty

Alan is parking still going to be ok even though there is a rockies game? Since that's the reason we skipped LoDo to begin with... just wondering if the patch of concrete will still be open. I forgot how close you are to coors field.

He's not in the general vicinity...so he should be far enough away to not be affected.

Well, I'm up for whatever. Jason's house would be cool too.. and he has that hot tub. But alan's pad is sweet. I think they should fight for it. Or maybe they should race for it.

FIGHT!  FIGHT!  FIGHT!

or make 'em race, but Alan has to use his car this time.  It was not fair when we raced last week and he was on that super-fast Aprilla of his.

Some replies:

1. Sure, you could bring your kids, spouses, etc. but I cannot take the blame if they get wasted.

2. Thankfully Coors field is on the other end of town, so parking wouldn't be affected.  There's a vacant piece of land across the street which will make an excellent photo shoot from my roof or balcony.

3. Closer to 8pm sounds good, since we probably need a little nappy time, and we don't want to retire too early on a Friday night.

4. There's a few bars within walking distance where we can take over, if we need a change of scenery.
