Oil Change Question

So I am a few hundred miles away from needing my oil changed- my question is... do you think I should change it before track day or after? Or does it matter?

If you have the opportunity to do it before it wouldn't hurt.

The oil will run in some harsh conditions during the track day, and new oil will deal better with the temprature extremes you may meet.

Thanks, that's kind of what I was wondering about. I guess considering all the driving I will be doing this weekend in general, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea...I will try to do it tomorrow night.

yup, yup, do it so as to protect the engine for track day and the rest of the weekend.  How often do you change your oil?  every 5K?

Yeah I do it every 5K. Full Syn 0W-40.  I am going to do it tonight after work..

I already have my oil and filter for this time around.. but I was wondering, can I get Synthetic anywhere for relatively cheap? I haven't even checked Vato-Zone or any of those places. I just assumed they wouldn't have full syn European car formula. I've been buying my oil from Stammler.

I get my full-syn euro 0w-40 at either Checker or Autozone. I think a case is about 30 or so.
I actually found it at my local Wal-Mart too.
