CD Changer- CASE CLOSED *smile*
« on: September 24, 2004, 07:43:10 PM »
The changer was delivered to my porch about 30 minutes ago (thanks to UPS tracker).

I want to go home and play with it. I may have to forget I need something at Wal-Mart until after I install it.

Finally! Something other than my tape deck/cig lighter discman setup. Now, only hope everything works properly *knock on plastic*

*grrr* two more hours....

I get to go home and jam an antibiotic pill down one of the cats throats.  So if I can do that, you can handle walmart ;).

What???!!!
Make him take it back dude! You shouldn't have to take that shit. You thought you were buying a working unit, not a pile of crap.

Get your money back. And keep the CD's a gift to yourself for putting up with this crap!

For real...CF wanted over $175 for thier units...I got this one for hella cheap. Now I know why.
In any case, I think he's ignoring me. Chalk it up to a casualty of bargain hunting. I've had a few of those over my time.

This happened to me when I shipped my changer out a few months ago.  I never thought about it, but UPS wasnt kind to the box.  I left the cartridge in the changer and during shipping the slots for the discs can out inside of the changer.  The buyer was able to knock the changer lightly so that the slots slid back into the cartridge.  From what it sounds like, this is what happened to you as well.

At first that's exactly what I thought had happened, but I popped it open and one of the pins for a slider's busted. I'm sure it could be fixed 'cause it just needs to unjammed and replaced, but those things are hella complicated. I managed to fix my dad's jammed changer, but a pin wasn't broke in it.

The guy was more than helpful when we transacting, but hey, you never know. As I said, I got a perephrial out of it and 8 CD's. And that's my suspicion that he knew it was busted...it still has CD's in it.

I guess I could replace the pin if I was so inclined, but it would likely be an all day if not multiple day process.

Well, if its worth it to you go ahead and try to fix it.  I dont think you will mess anything else up if you tried.

I agree. I just have to figure out where I can buy those pins...probably an electronics repair shop.

Metal and it's a pin with two washer like things on either end. It's busted 'cause one washer thingy's missing.

HE DID GET BACK TO ME (after stating that my CAR could be the problem) Here's the commicae up to date:

Ron,
Sorry to be so harsh...BUT, I popped the cover off and I find: a broken slider pin, a jammed CD, and a full CD magazine. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe it's broken. If you are telling me the truth, which I find hard to believe considering the evidence, then you will give me a full refund including shipping BEFORE I send the changer back to you and I I WILL return it in the same condition it was recieved.
Thank you.

What are you talking about.
It was working when I removed it from the
car. That is the truth!!

Try it in another car, it might be your car
that is the problem.

Nope, just a vortex thing. Last Vortex thing I think too. He's still insisting he sells good, working product. I'm still insisting he doesn't and if he really wasn't lying to me than to refund my money including shipping.

If he doesn't....well, I'm gonna send Randy after him  Or dig up a Panasonic changer, or sell my Perephrial or try to get it fixed.

Here's his email if you all feel like having a little fun with him : rcristobal@hotmail.com and his latest email, which I responded to:

JR,

It was working when I shipped it to you!!!
Why would you popped it open?
How did you get the cassette out if it is jam?

I shipped a working product and I don't
sell something that doesn't work!

CD changers always pop up on CB5, that's where you should have gone in the first place. VWVortex is such an amalgam realted to VW's. CB5 is much more focused...

Okeedokee...

An update is that I've not heard from him at all following my request to have my money returned. Hmmm...imagine that :(

I've since filed a complaint and reimbursement request with PayPal. I'm glad I bought the money back guarantee :)

I've also reported him to the FBI's fraud department

Hopefully, I'll get my money refunded and he'll go to jail and get butt-raped by large, smelly, hairy men

I just received notice that I am being fully reimbursed by PayPal.  :D
That $4.95 was well spent :D

So yeah, I am all  :D I still don't have a changer, but hey. I didn't lose $80 :D

I know not what will happen to the seller. Nor do I care. :D

Great news!

Pardon the language but f*k the seller. He obviously sent a broken changer so any loss on his part is his problem. Glad to hear this got sorted.
