Exterior detail - reccomendation?
« on: November 25, 2007, 11:15:31 PM »
hello all!

want to get our new (to us :)) car all spiffed up on the outside (the inside is already pretty clean).  any recommendations on where i can take it to get it buffed and then nicely waxed?  searched the forum and the only recent comment on this was to talk to nick from detailer's paradise - but i was wondering if anyone had any firsthand experience with anywhere.  or do you all just do it yourselves?!

thanks!

Most of the owners on here DIY, however there are a few that I believe get it done by a shop. Hopefully they will chime in.

Also, many of the folks that are DIYers are very nice and will often help you out and show you what to do. Nick at DP does demos from time to time as well.

It is hard work, but with the right tools it's not too bad and you really feel a lot better knowing that everything got done right.

yep - if you have a couple hours to spare say 2x per year you can keep your car looking pretty good on your own.  Go down to Detailer's paradise  (on Broadway a couple blocks north of evans on the west side of the street) and talk to Nick.  he'll get you set up with everything you need.

thanks for your input, guys.

i'm definitely going to head down to see nick to get something to condition the leather inside.  but i can't really do the outside as we're currently living in a multi-unit building with nowhere to do it.  thinking about buying a house next year and at that point i'd definitely like to start doing it myself.

in the meantime, doesn't anyone have any suggestions as where i can take the car now?   :)

thanks!

There is a place called The Firehouse down on 6th near Sante Fe. When they had the location further down (east) 6th we used to take Renee's Mercedes there and they always did a good job.

when you are down there talking to nick, ask him.  I know he has a couple folks that he feels confident enough to send people to.

I just dont know who they are since I have been doing my detailing DIY style.

They wouldn't do my car (when it was on the street) because it was too low ::)

Wouldn't use The Wave in Broomfield. Poor Job and lied about Steam cleaning the seats of my other vehicle. They won't touch my new VW!!!!
