Tranny Fluid Change: 99 Jetta 2.0l Automatic ??
« on: November 22, 2004, 01:42:14 PM »
Anybody done this here or can point me into the right direction.  I've searched but, not getting what I'm looking for, mostly yes it needs to be changed, but no procedure.

Thanks
Alex

1999.5 or 1999?  Tranny code? I have the repair manual for MKIV (1999.5+) which may be a little different, but they should be close.

I figured.  It was just laughing that the post was so old the car was gone.

After I read your comment about the car being gone the first thing that went through my mind was "good, someone else had to worry about the tranny falling out."

Heh...old bumpage...yeah I saw it was really old, but I thought I would post.  I was surprised there were no answers?

Maybe a mod should prune the forums... :-\

Now, that's how you get people to post...JR took the bait :D

Don't make me modify what you just said! :D But you're right, I'll respond to anything.  Sort of like being addicted to AWOT.

Mike, are you knocking Jay? oooo...that's playing fire ;D

Haha nah I don't even know the guy...and FWIW this site is really well done!  I was trolling and just couldn't resist the urge to click on the "reply" button.

I don't prune our forums - mainly because it looks better thread-wise.  But once in a while we get a mode who is delete happy - so that's why we now have a "black hole"...

Can you tell I am bored at work today?

Um...can you guys take this resurrected thread anymore OT? :P As for pruning, no sense if the thread provides potential valuable content for someone in the future with similar questions. Hence the use of the Related Topics.

Yes with that we run the risk of very old threads being brought back from the dead, but sometimes that is not so bad if good information is provided. :D

Sorry  :(

My intentions were honest...I have good information for the OP, but it sounds like the post is too old.  Somewhere the is an automatic MKIV in need of a DIY for tranny fluid.  I am done with this thread. :-X

Mike I wasn't giving you a hard time. The info you provided was perfect. It was the rest of the yahoos that derailed it.

Yeah, I called you guys yahoos. :)
