Ignore the poll! I think we have a winner.

I went from this (turned out to be unavailable from the site I planned to order from):

and this (finally decided it was just too much lip!):

then to this (~20lbs each for an 18" wheel! 8O) sadly the seller sold locally so I missed out :

and finally.......... [insert drum roll here]........

some of these (yeah, that's my car on the beach here in CO ):

I think both kick equal amounts of ass.  Love 'em both.

yeah what's cool is that they appear to be bigger than they are. I think the spokes are the same size as the lip-style wheels. I guess the others just have more "GRRRR!" appeal... ;)

I like em both, but I think I like #2 a lil better.  Can't go wrong with either IMO!

they are certainly an option, but are always sold out on edgeracing's website. Not sure if they will be any easier to obtain when its time to buy.

I've only seen them on that site...  I'm guessing it's either their product, or they have the exclusive disty rights...

17" option.  I personally hate lips...makes the rim look smaller, and the OEM audi ones on the A6 are awesome, also a personal favorite of mine.

Jon -

I am beginning to take your sig quote seriously.  Looking at the poll results and the comments.  I agree with you, and apparently we are both wrong.   :?

Oh well, I like what I like and those 17's still look good to me.

All 3 look kinda similar, and all look good to me :)  17" wheels look great, 18" wheels look a lil better (usually..) but I don't think there is any benefit with the 18s unless you really like the look.  Don't think you can go wrong with any of those wheels you are considering.  Doesn't Amanda have Pat's Flik Wasps?  Maybe they can say something good / bad about that Rim.

Hey Jonathan~
Guess who just got a ticket for 19 over on the way home.  On Hwy 93.  I was thinking it was a limit of 65.  Apparently it's 55.  Damn.

The bigger the lip, the more they'll flip...

I'm liking #2, but I also have always liked the RCs too. I guess you have to ask yourself what kind of "look" you're going after... OEM, Euro OEM, Aftermarket Bling, Euro Bling, Bling Bling, Wings and things... Sorry...

Right now I'm leaning towards the RCs - I love the OEM look and am starting to think the lip on the AR1s is a bit much.... but yeah, those RCs would be so much nicer in 18".

something like this... too bad the bolt pattern is wrong. grrrrr....

I did find these RC knock-offs (18x8) which might fit the bill:

Thanks for the input everyone!

BBS RGR's look much like the RC's and do come in 18's - and even 19's.

yeah, and if I had the $$$$ that's exactly what would go on my car!!!
(I'm trying to stay in the $250 or less range for wheels, sadly the RGRs are about double that... 8O ).

oh glorious silver 18" BBS RGRs... mmmm, yummy...

Yeah, they are quite pricy.  definately yummy though.

the Oz Supperlegras are still above your range, but are MUCH closer to it and are a little similar to the RC's too.

Well I've been wheel hunting this whole time, haha. Turns out the A6 wheels are not available from where I had planned on buying them.

So, for some more cash I'm looking at a couple of private sales - one is a set of 18" RCs which is my all time favorite (and in the neighborhood of 20lbs per wheel 8O), the other is a set of 18" CHs that are a little cheaper - very good deal actually. If both of those fall thru I'll be back to the beginning... hehe.

I love CHs to, but don't ya think they are starting to eb a little overdone?

I like the RCs as well, as for the Fliks, talk to Dave (StarlightB5) he got his through edge I believe. I do recall I think he had an issue with a tire being out of round and it was a bit of a hassle not to mention some slow shipping but in the end I think it all worked out.

You can probably search the forums I know it's on here somewhere.

RCs are definitely my first pick, look at this hotness (actually the first pic looks like 19s - can't tell for sure)!

CHs are next in line - don't look too shabby either:
