Second Creek Free Days
« on: December 10, 2004, 03:05:41 PM »
Hugh Gordon over on Vortex looked into it and was able to confirm that Second Creek will be offering free days from December 26 - 31, 2004.

I have added this to the Calendar as well. Here is a numer to contact SCR: 303.371.6661 for any further information.

Well, I'll be in exotic Cedar Rapids, IA until the 29th or so.  That date is still up in the air, but I'm guessing the 30th or 31st would work best.  Is you bro-in-law going to be in town for Festivus or does he live here?

He lives in MN. Wife's family is arriving Christmas day and staying until the 31st (I think). I'll have to check. Won't have the summer tires since they need replacing, but I'll have the "winter" all-seasons. Maybe we can do a few laps.

Well, I would love to go, I won't be able to make it. I'm off on Friday, but pick up my wife that morning and then it's getting off almost at dark Mon-Thur. Suck. I'd have to put the summer tires back on anyway and that'd suck too.

Let's try to set a time so we can all meet up there... my brother and Dad will be in town for Festivus and I'm sure they'd love to check it out.

How about Friday, December 31? Everyone should have that day off and hopefully all will be in town. I guess it depends on the weather too, but let's try to plan the 31. I could also go 26-29.

OOOOooooooo, I think I can manage to get a day off and deal with the hassle of putting the summer tires back on. One of them is pretty close to shot, but I can still sink a fingernail into it and it comes out sticky.

On a quick side note, I have to say that the Kuhmo Ecsta Supra's while not the stickiest tires on the market, have held up to an enormous amount of abuse this summer, including two full track days, a trip out to CA, and summer canyon drives for a total of about 12,000 miles. Pretty outstanding for a Z-rated tire at around $100 a corner.

Maybe I can throw on my summers just to get the last bit out of them. They'll be replaced come next summer. I need to get one patched though because of a nail.

I'm planning on hanging with my wife as she just gets in from a week in Utah that morning. Maybe she'll want to track the Jetta...who knows

Hey all, hate to be a wet blanket, but I just called SCR and listened to their recording.  It says the free days are for CMC club members.  That means Colorado Motorsports Council, doesn't it?  That means you'd have to join one of the CMC clubs to be able to take advantage of the free days.  I think the same issue came up last year.

Dude, that was Andrew....long day at the office?

Yeah. "And Jesus wept"

...okay so it's a little out of context which makes it a pretext and well...nevermind. The point is, taking scripture out of context leads to all sorts of weird things and misinterpretations and not having a free track day makes me weep.

If I understand correctly, if you are enrolled in any contributing club you are able to drive for free on these days.

I think the majority of us are NOT members of those qualifying clubs.

This is a pretty creative group - Is there some way we could "get" around this?  What if we paid a "temporary" membership fee to someone?  Come on and let's figure this one out.

Doh!  Sorry Andrew!  Good one Andrew!

And yes, all I have are long days at the office.

It's true, I don't think any of us belong to those other clubs that are contributing members.

On the tex, I saw where nutsforninjas (Scott?) was going to be at SCR with the DZ crew.  He said the owner likes them.  What are the chances of getting on the track with his crew?
