JR, don't even worry about it.  When I did this last year, I only had my coilovers and it was still a blast!  You can't miss it!

It's probably in your best interest to drive the car on the track in (almost) stock trim anyway, JR.  That's nothing to worry about.  Once you start to mod it you'll have a much tougher time driving consistenly at it's limits.
So you think you'll hang with us Wed?

Yeah, I'm definately in on Wed. and I'm going to check on the track for the 4th. I'm not sure if I have the money lying around being unemployed and all, but I'll see.
Stock eh? I can do that. It'll be fun to see the difference when I get some engine mods in there anyway

I wish I'd driven mine there stock my first time.  Remember to record a couple lap times so you can tell differences with each mod.

So guys and gals, are we liking the first weekend in September or what? That seems like as good a date as any right now. We should just nail it down and start planning around it. I do like the idea of cooler weather, but I am worried about conflicts in peoples school and work scheduals. But I guess we'll just see.

That looks good to me too.  I say we do it!

Let me know if anyone has a problem with this date.

I talked with Jen and we would like to volunteer our place for the Saturday night BBQ...

We have an extra fridge, so we have plenty of room for extra suds...

Nice.  This is really turning out to be big and fun.  If you compare the number of replied to the national GTG in Chicago, we have quite a few more.  Now we need to start trying to come up with some good drives.

I was thinking a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park is a possibility, but it is an all day drive.  At least 6 hours.

Let's get a list of drives and approximate times so we can do some voting:

1. Rocky Mountain National Park   - 6 Hours

Drive up I-25 to Estes, go through the park and come out in the Granby area, then make our way over to I-70 and come back from there.

2. Sedalia and area.  4-6 hours

This was the area we ventured into on our drive in May.  It snowed that morning and we had a great time, but there are lots of variations on this drive we can do.

I need some other options.  Post them and I will add them here...

I've found that if you do the drive starting at I-70, you can acutally hit all those curves around vail really fast uphill

The Audi Club did a drive down through Woodland and through the Springs...we could actually may be extend that and head through the Crested Butte area...that's a good days drive

I have been following this and I would like to go for the drive and the Saturday BBQ.  Let me see what my schedule looks like.  Let me know what is still needed food or suds wise.
If it ain't broke, take it apart and fix it!
