Here they are. Ronal R28's 17x8.5" et34

They even have a cool German flag!

Thank you so much Sarah! 1) For tracking a set down and 2) for selling them to me

Yay!  JR finally got some good rims!  I have never seen the Ronals in 17".  I can't wait to check em out!

You know, Winston, they look very different in a larger size. It was weird. For a second, I thought they were different rims! But the cool part is that I like the 17's better!

I hope to have them on in the next couple weeks. We'll meet for lunch ;)

Sweet set up.  If you find a source for the centercaps let me know.  The LA distributor wants 30.00 bucks for one.  Since I'm not currently running mine, I 've he;d off on replacement.

What rubber are you going to get?

Rob, I assume you're talking about the Ronal center caps? I plan on getting some VW ones. I want it to look even more OEM.

You can have the Ronal ones if you want when I get the VW ones, or just 1 cap. I also have the silver Ronal caps that are on the 15's if you like those better.

I'm going to go down to Performance Wheel and Tire and see what they'll offer me in trade for my Falken's and possibly the 15's. I don't think I'll get much for the Hankooks since I've already used 'em for 2 winters. They do have a set of Nitto all-season's I'm interested in trying out.

Assuming the Ronal centercaps from the 17" wheels fit the 16" wheels I'd be all over those puppies and I'd make sure there is compensation in there for your new caps.  Send me an email with your phone# so i can call.

Thanks
Rob

Nice! They look huge sitting next to your 15's... I'm excited for you... Put an 8mm spacer in the rear and your car is going to look mean!

Looks great JR!! I can't wait to see them in person.

But you might just want to hold onto those 15's for winter use only. Ever tried to cut pizza with a dough roller? You'll understand if you try and use those 8.5" wheels on the snow. I say get some nice summer tires for the 17's and a nice set of AS or winter only tires for the 15's. You have a house now, so storage shouldn't be that big an issue.

Thanks guys! As for lunch...I'll let you know once I get the wheels on ;)

Chas, that's what I have now, winter's on my 15's. I was just looking out at all the snow we get...;) Like I said, I'll probably see what kind of deal they'll cut me on trade-ins. I don't think I'll get much, so I'll probably throw some A/S's on the 17's and keep the 15's.

I'm loving these new Goodyear Assurance Triple Tread tires I just got a week or so ago. Freaking amazing how they deal with the cold white stuff and then handle the dry pavement as well! And the tread pattern is way cool and aggresive looking.  8)    I'm impressed!      8)  8)

You running them on your 15's or your 17's?
I'm assuming the 15's since you mentioned cold white stuff, but I know you need to tires for your 17's.
*sigh* One week....I can hardly wait.
