Dubs Along the Rockies??
« on: February 26, 2005, 01:33:55 AM »
Hello!

I saw the post about Dubs Along the Rockies on the Clubb5.com forums.  I was thinking about making the trip to see the Pike's Peak run and make the show the next day.  I was told to post up here to see about where people would recommend staying, location of the event, etc.  Any information would be appreciated!   :D

Thanks!

The official site for DATR is:

http://www.dubsaalongtherockies.com

DATR will be in Colorado Springs, CO.  Pikes Peak is right there too, so the best place to stay would be in that area.  I believe the DATR site has links or at least info on local hotels.

Scott will probably chime in here with some more details.  If you were to travel by plane you would want to see if you can fly into Colorado Spring, otherwise it is about 2.5 hours from DIA (maybe more).

That hotel stuff is from last year, this year's stuff will be posted soon but right now this is our "official" hotel with rooms reserved just for the show:

Econo Lodge World Arena
1623 South Nevada Avenue
Colorado Springs CO 80906

I am still working on one a bit  closer (that one is about 10-15 minutes away), but here are all of the hotels within walking distance:

Doubletree Colorado Springs
1775 E Cheyenne Mountain Blv
Colorado Springs CO 80906

Sheraton Colorado Springs
2886 S. Circle Drive
Colorado Springs CO 80906

Days Inn S Colorado Springs
2850 South Circle
Colorado Springs CO 80906

Comfort Inn Colorado Springs S
1410 Harrison Road
Colorado Springs CO 80906

La Quinta Inn & Stes Col Spr
2750 Geyser Drive
Colorado Springs CO 80906

I can also tell you that the Doubletree is the official hotel for the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, so it will probably be jam packed! I would choose the La Quinta or Comfot Inn myself, and the drive from the airport to World Arena is 90 minutes... Jay was a bit off!
