CU CAR SHOW
« on: July 10, 2003, 11:47:43 PM »
The CU car show is a fundraiser that is put together by the CU Formula SAE (society of automotive engineers) team. What the team does is build a car from the ground up every year, tweaking, and redesigning everything from the chassis and suspension to the way the body panels look. The only thing we don't build is the engine, we use a 600cc 4-stroke engine from Honda.
The show is a non-organized event it's just a fun way to ease through a
Sunday morning hangover and meet with your friends, and talk about cars. The show will be judged by spectators and the contestants. It's just a "for fun" show. The show is located here at CU, and will be Sunday Sept. 14th registration will be between 8-9:30am and the awards will be handed out around 3-3:30pm. The entry fee is $12 until Sept. 13th and is $15 day of show.

want more info? email me with and addy and i will get a flyer out to you ASAP!

That sounds like fun, but are we supposed to do our own car or just come and check it out?  I wasn't sure.  :D

Wouldn't it be awesome if we had a club "kit car".  Actually, the car show is for regular street cars, and the judging will be on those...not the type of car they are trying to raise money for.  It would be kinda like VWOTG but with all makes and models with prizes for the coolest cars.

Maybe so!  Jen's birthday is the next day and we might be out of town.  If not, I am all over it!

Schedule permitting...I plan on going as a spectator...the allroad is not show worthy.  I received some info packets in the mail from Sara today...and will bring them to the track on Wednesday...looks like they have had some exotics there in the past...like Lambo's etc.

Pah! It doesn't need to be show worthy, all you need is a sticker in the window and all of us to park together...that way, we have presence 8)

Reviving an old thread…Is anyone planning on attending this or entering for that matter? I think this would be fun and feel RMCB5 should have a presence.

word up!

Unfortunately I have to work that Weekend...and if I do go to a car show...I may do the local Colorado Conclave in Arvada...a huge british car gathering...lots of mini's there.

I still think the show for CU should be interesting...I hear there are going to be some exotics there...Cars, not women...but one can only hope  :P
