2nd Creek Raceway; April 8th
« on: March 28, 2005, 04:49:05 PM »
To all drivers and spectators,

SCR Performance is hosting a track day at Second Creek Raceway on April 8th, 2005.

Cost is $60 per half day.

12:00PM is the deadline on registration, we expect drivers to be attending the mandatory driver meeting at 12:30.
Lunch will be served from 12-1:30, and is complementary for drivers registered through SCRP. Lunch is available for non-drivers for $5.00. Please RSVP if you plan on eating lunch, but do not plan on driving.
As always, tell Bob and the folks at the registration desk that you are with SCR Performance to receive your free lunch ticket.

With 38 SCRP drivers, the last test/tune day was a great success, and we hope you will help us make this another successful event! Please respond to this thread or PM me if you plan on attending. Headcounts are necessary so we don't run short on food.

Directions from I-25;
104th East to Tower South to 88th West and before the road turns to the right, there is an entrance next to the house. Take this entrance, as it is the only way into the track.
The driveway isn't very noticeable, so when you see the house, definitely start slowing down and be looking for the entrance. Call Mark or me on our mobile phones if you have any complications.

Hope to see you all there.

Thank you,
Mike Rieger - Mark Baer

Please count me in for Saturday, I don't plan to eat.  I will bring the M3 as I just installed my new HP Plus pads, and Zimmerman rotors.  Guess I have to get the Azenis Sports on before Saturday as well.  What time do you guys plan on starting in the morning?

You are on the list. Arriving at 11-11:30 would be best. Lunch and registration starts at 12 and there is the mandatory driver meeting at 12:30.

See you all there!

I'm not going to be there, unfortunately.  I'll be in Fruita tomorrow and the rest of the weekend.  I'll catch up with you guys next time.  Have fun!

Well, I wanted to get a jump on everyone tomorrow and I decided to take the M3 out to the track this morning, and get some laps in.  It was a great day, not too hot and there were very few people on the track.  As my reputation precedes me, I ran several consecutive laps and learned a lot about the M3, how to drive a rear-wheel drive on the track, what changes in the line apply to the M3, and what its capabilities are.  Wow, what an amazing car.  So predictable, agile, solid and extremely well connected to my inputs.  I was going all out the entire day, and never left the track unexpectedly, even though it was a new car (to me)

Unfortunately, I underestimated the remaining life on my Azenis Sports I was planning to use for the next couple track days.  The tire on my front left is showing some wear into the nylon cords, so that tire is not usable.  I am probably going to put the ES100 rubber on from my other wheels, and drive with that tomorrow, but it is more probably that I won't drive at all.  Either way, I will plan to stop by and see what everyone is up to.  If tomorrow is anything like today, itís going to be an awesome day for the track!

Please keep us posted on upcoming events. Now that I've got stoppers and tyres sorted for the summer I'll be looking to scrubbing some rubber soon.

Hehe, J. Looking forward to going for a ride in May in that guy ;)

Well, I was able to find another option for my tire issue... using the spare tire which was the same OEM BMW Motorsport wheel, with a Z rated Michelin tire.  It didn't wear too badly and itís not like the spare tire sees much use anyways!  It was a great day, I was able to learn a lot about the M3 and meet some great new people.  The guys at SCR are very informative and are going to be a very successful shop IMHO

I am happy you were able to drive, it was a blast to ride with you. I was impressed with how the Michelin handled compared to the Azenis sport. There definately was a difference, but the Michelin held its own.

Thank you very much Jason, we hope to see you at future events!

Yep - a good time had by all!

Although a couple of the cars made me lust for my MINI, I'm feeling v e r y  s l o w in the current ride. Everyone asks about oversteer - I wish I had some; it's very hard to get the car to rotate the way it is setup right now. The hosepower is addicting though!

I want to go.  How much drive time do you think we will be able to get?  All we need is a helmet right?

This event is already past, but you should come out to the May NGTG Track Day. It's as much driving as you are willing to put your car through.

NGTG Track Day Post

A helmet and a car is all you NEED, but you may want to look at the links on the first page of that topic and get some ideas about other things to bring. Tools, good shoes, snacks, water, etc etc etc :)
