I woulda been outta there with the sun still out if i hadn't ended up having rubbing/grinding issues with the pad carier pins on the back-side of my rotors. All better now though!

Something happen after I left or are you talking about the minor dust shield modification?

No No, this was after you left and had to do with the fronts. Clearance looked good before I mounted them, but on the car it was bad news and only on the inside. Ended up having to grind the posts down a bit to get good clearance.

Heh, "minor dust shield modification"

I think the skid plate is a wise investment.  I might look inot something like that for my car.  Having seen the aftermath of a cracked oil pan, I do not want one.

Most of you guys have the 1.8T which has a much smaller oil pan, so it wouldn't be as damage prone.
But I'd guess it better to be safe than sorry -- the oil pan is pretty soft and doesn't take much to crack it.

Hey Alan, sorry to hear about the incident.  Sounds like it turned out as well as one could hope for.  Is the CF pan alright?  Let me know how it turned out and if you need any help with it.  Got any pix?
