Ok, JR's thread made me come to grips with all of the little things that are wrong with my car.

Post your little gripes and complaints here for all the world to see...Here's mine:

-Left rear swaybar bolt FELL OUT.  Yeah I didn't tighten it enough.  I have the replacement now and need to put it in.
-Rear left speaker needs replacing.
-Whole front end needs respray.
-3 out of 4 wheels have some type of curbage (including a big one from my wife from the first day with them on.  I hate blaming her for things, but I refuse to take the blame for that one).
-I think the control arms are starting to wear out.  Noises going over bumps are driving me crazy.
-Yes I have angel eye headlights, but the wiring is a little tricky so they don't light up yet.  This is minor as the projector lenses and HIDs are way better than the angel eyes and the lenses are beautiful.
-Multiple door dings and a couple good gouges too.

So what are yuor gripes?

- my climatronic sometimes switches itself off.
- the puddle lights on the front two doors are not working (I replaced the bulbs but no luck).
- I keep getting scrapes and license plate screw dents from *ssholes who can't drive or park.  My bumper has been repainted twice, I wish there was a miracle bumper that is damage proof.
- I have creeks and rattles from the doors and dash.
- my hood is misaligned.
- my trunk lid is heavy as hell.
- my brakes squeek.
- it's so hard keeping my car clean!!!  :roll:

On the Golf:

- The black paint is very brittle and chips way to easy.. The whole front end needs to be resprayed. The black paint shows swirls soo bad. I don;t feel like using the PC everytime i wash it.
- We need better MPG out of this TDi motor. We are only getting 52 mpg avg on the highway. I want atleast 65 mpg..
- The TDi doens't have enough sound. The turbo on this thing muffles the bulk of the sounds away. Even when running no muffler, it is still quiet.
- The OEM seats need better support. The TDi isn't avaliable in a GT form here in the states so there is no way to get OEM Recaro's from the factory in North America
- The OEM suspension breaks down to quick. 32k miles and it feels like i am riding on a packed out sofa.

-- Suspension and paint will be remedied in the coming months..

On the A4:

- The sunroof closes very slow, Almost like it forgets what is is doing and takes a break along the way to grab and beer and peanuts.
- The OEM HID's should come from the factory the with same housing as the Euro model.  Not a different one with an orange reflector and looser (sp) beam pattern.
- The 1.8T Quattro brakes should be larger in the front, these brakes are crap.. We should atleast get the same brakes as the 3.0L.
- The leather should be softer, more like a nice pair of italian gloves, Not stiff and rigid.
-Oh and it shouldn't drive so slow.. How about more HP from the factory.

Brakes, suspension and lighting will be corrected in the next couple months..

I think that is it. overall I am very happy with our Golf, A4 and last Jetta we had.  Enough so that i convinced my parents to buy a TDi beelte to cruise around in.

On the A4...

-Cracked lower fog grille from a rock
-Scratch on drivers side headlight lense from some schmuck in an SUV
-Climate Control resets itself periodically for no apparent reason
-Headlight warning goes off if the lights turn on/off quickly when they are on auto

that I can not drive both cars at one time :wink:

I love them both so much, it is hard to choose which one to drive.

otherwise, small scratches, normal wear and tear, I would love to get those things fixed or touched up.  Won't take much, but it does take effort or in some areas, professional touch up is rock chips.

- no money to fix the following:

- headlights are yellow
- rear bumper looks like a little kid with knife took to it.
- bird chiping from front left wheel area (goes away when I hit the brakes)
- clunk/pop when I stop and start (sometimes alot, sometimes not)
- front end needs respray
- scratces and dings that I've worked out and those that I can't get, I live with.
- not fast enough
- NOT happy with front end.

I hate that I have a love/hate relationship with the car.

Anyway, all the little things that need to be fixed:

There is a HUGE rock chip in the windshield which will require replacement
Paint scratches that need to be buffed out.
The seats need MUCH more lateral support.
the suspension needs better rebound damping
the car needs more power
the car needs bigger brakes, these heat up too fast and warp
sippy cups still leave little milk drips on the seats
there is dog hair EVERYWHERE.
if Audi sells the same hitch in Europe - why can it tow 5000 lbs there and only 3300 here?

Complaints on my 98 A4:

- driver's headlight sticks out on the side
- clicking sound from 1500-3500 rpms which might be a catalytic conv.
- sometimes when i close the sunroof it closes and reopens
- sometimes the sunroof opens all by itself
- the dial to open the sunroof is only half-covered in paint now
- my steering wheel leather is peeling off
- my shifter knob leather is peeling off
- the wood panelling has a tiny little dent in the center console
- my delta radio display has one digital line that is out
- my brights half turn on over hard bumps
- 2 of my 4 wheels have slight curbage
- my exhaust is slightly crooked
- the back license plate cover only has drilled holes on the trunk lid to bolt on the top but not the bottom, so it rattles when i close my trunk lid.
- my passenger's side seat is manually operated and sticks, whereas my driver's seat is mechanized.
- the headliner gets real dirty really easily
- lots of road trips have put a lot of paint chips in the hood, which irritates me to no end
- my rear suspension clunks
- my 2.8 liter V6 doesn't act like a 5.7 liter V8.
- i need a 6th gear for highway driving
