Check this out.  These looks pretty good.

I can't wait to see a review of them and see what they do for software, etc...

Ahh the Disco Potato, we have been discussing these turbos in the 1.8t fourm on the tex. Im still doubtfull of the stock manifolds ability to flow all that extra air. If it were possable to put down 260-270ish to the wheels with the stock mani I would be in like sin.

Yeah, if I were to put one of these in, I would want to do work on both the intake and exhaust manifolds.  While you are in there, it just makes sense to port and polish both to make use of the full potential.

Plus, I wonder what software support there is out there for this setup...GIAC is one of the few that do custom programming, but you'd have to do something or shell out the bucks for a standalone product...

I wonder if the stock exhaust mani has enough meat to take out of the middle? I would probly try to get a Revo BT file and tweek it with Lemmiwinks along the way.

Yeah, I am pretty sure the Revo BT stuff would run it without a problem.

That is why you get the APR kit where it comes with the manifold to push big numbers... plus according to APR the stock gt28rs doesn't work that great for our cars, they changed the wastegate and something else (forgot what) to make it work right.

Come to the May 1st GTG, I should have the kit on by then (should be just a few hp shy of 300whp on 91)

FWIW, I ported/polished my exhaust manifold.

I ordered K04s (RS4 turbos), MBC, 5bar FPR, TCD. My shopping list also includes upgraded tranmission parts, piggie pipes, heat wrap. So it should be very fun   8O

Very nice.  I can't wait to see it.
But, what's TCD?
Also, you didn't get new software for the different turbos?  I realize you got a MBC.  I don't know much about MBCs.

I wont need new software. That is what the TCD(throttle cut defeat) and MBC(manual boost controller) are for.   Where the current software and turbos drop off power in the upper RPM range (due to efficeincy of the turbos and fuel flow) The added parts will compensate for that. Allowing me to run 16-20 PSI of boost all the way to redline.

Before I would spike at 18 for a breif moment and then taper all the way down to 8-10 at the RPM went up.

(TCD tells the computer you are running less boost than you are)

Hmm.  So it's as simple as that?  Like I said, I don't know anything about that stuff, but it seems to me like it should be more complicated.  That's pretty damn cool it's so easy to do.
