buy some light wheels..
« on: April 24, 2005, 02:55:32 PM »
I finally got my wheels mounted, OZ SL 17x8's w/ Toyo T1-S rubber (235-45-17). I was going to get 18's but i like the ride and the performance of the 17's.  As soon as i mounted the OZ's i could tell they were a lot lighter. The car felt better, accelerated better, steering felt lighter and smoother.  I am very happy. Well worth the $$ and i saved 14lbs per wheel/tire combo compared to the stock setup i was running. :)

Here are some crappy pics, but i didn't feel like taking the car out to just take some pics.

PS -  I know there is some wheel gap, that should be cured shortly either by Stasis or Bilstien Coilovers with some H-Sport S4 swaybars.  I get the exhaust installed in the couple weeks and then the suspension will follow up shortly.

The car looks sweet and that's amazing how much weight you saved. IMO the next thing you need to do is suspension.

the exhaust is already on the way. I coudn't handle the quiet stock sound. I am going to install the H-Sport S4 bars first, and then the coilovers after. I am still trying to decide which coilovers i want. I am trying to find people around with different suspensions that i can go see and take a ride with them. I just don't want to spend the $$ twice.

After the suspension is done, i think i am going to order the Oettinger or Caratere full kit. There are so many A4's around, i need mine to look different.  I think we are also going to get the Oettinger Kit for the wifes Golf.

Very nice, love the wheels, and like the fact that you're doing suspension soon. And while I like the B5 overall better than the B6 compared stock, it goes the other way for me when there's a kit on. Caractere or Oettinger B6 A4's are very, very sweet; instant cargasm when I see one coming my way.

I am also looking at the kerscher kit for the Audi. What ever we decide on i would like to do the same kit on both cars which means probably Oettinger.  Her front bumper is all rock chipped anyways so this will be perfect timing.  I will have to order some of the TDi Oettinger engine parts too.. ;)  It will be nice to have 2 Oettinger kitted cars in the garage.  I wish there was a way to get a discount on Oettinger parts cause this is gonna get expensive quick..

I was going to say the same thing about the bikes

Those are nice wheels and were my first choice for a long time for my S4.

I think that is the basics.. Nothing too major or special.. ;)

She is looking beautiful Eric.  A new set of nice wheels always dresses up a car.  I look forward to seeing your future modifications.
If it ain't broke, take it apart and fix it!
