Anyone know of the best place to get these harnesses?  Im possibly looking at getting a set since the upcoming car arleady has the openings in the seats for the harnesses.

Thanks,
Steve

Schroth is a company who makes racing harnesses for cars.

Thanks for the suggestions.  If the company is sketchy, then I wouldnt want to risk ordering from them.  I was able to find a few other places for about $150 a side.  Once I pick out the car's color, then I'll order up some harnesses.

I recently saw some for sale on the VWVortex MKIV For Sale forum.  If you're interested in used, I'll see if I can find the thread.

the other thing to consider...they are made specific to the car.  for example, I have them in my MINI, and that set won't work in any other car.  This is due to the clips and fastners...and mounting points.  As they use the specific buckles that come with the car, you need to match them up...then there is the issue of where the bolt in sections are...My MINI has 2 points where it bolts into the floor, one under the driver seat, and the other behind the rear seat bottom.

So, even though an MKIV might work clip and buckle wise, the lock down points might be in different enough locations to make them useless.

So, depending on what car you end up with, it is in your best interest to but the ones specific to your application.

I was looking at the BMW/Mini/VW/Audi specific harnesses back when I wanted a set in the Passat.  $200 wasnt bad to have them clip into the stock buckles.

The next car (Mitsu) doesnt have anything specific from Schroth that will be an issue.  Im just concerned with colors since Im unsure which color exterior I want.

Whichever color I do get, all interiors are blue/black Recaros for the interior.  So who knows.

Thanks again for the tips.  Cant wait to get a set once I get the new car in a few weeks.

Steve, when you know what color you want, give me a shout and I will do my best to help you out.  We can get Top Spin and Scroth belts.

BTW - I think the Silver EVO is the best color going.

Thanks man.  Once I get the car and get situated, this will be one of my first mods.  I'll be giving you a call once I figure it all out.
