Ok, well, if they're meeting up from 7 AM - 8 AM, I'm guessing I'll be heading down all by my lonesome, since Auto-X registration closes at 8:30.

Just an FYI:
Showing only cars will NOT be parked until the gate opens at 9:30a. Unless of course you're a volunteer scheduled to work :P

I've got a spectator who will be coming down with me, so it is best if I try to follow his schedule.  He's been saying he's coming for weeks, but I just informed him yesterday that I signed up for the Auto-X and need to be there before 8:30.  We'll see what he thinks about that!   8O

I think the caravan is primarily show folks... you might be running a solo mission to make it down for the autocross, or I can put you in touch with a few other fols heading down from your area....

Did you mean "folks" or "fools"? Considering it is 6:00 AM when I will be getting up, I could understand it either way.

the time listed for the KK meet up will make you miss the autocross, you need to be here between 7 and 8 (earlier is better)

That's what I was planning. Just on a side note, where's the closest place to get coffee near the event? Probably wouldn't be a bad idea for me to know, since I (and my friend who is just watching) would probably feel a lot better after a cup of coffee.

There is a 7-11 on Circle as you exit I-25, and there is also a Burger King and  a pretty dang good Bagel shop in the Target shopping center just across from the 7-11. The Bagel shop does cappucinos and stuff too...

Not sure about the weather, it's going to be really hot on Sunday with a chance of thunderstorms.  Saturday is not great either with rain -- not great for car washing/detailing.  Lets hope for the best.

You'll both be screwed this stormy Sunday when Reality Land comes in and completely annihilates Imagination and Fantasy Lands, nuking the cities, razing the fields, and slaughtering all inhabitants.

Isn't 'razing' and interesting word? It means roughly 'to level' but it sounds and is spelled slightly different then 'raise' which means the exact opposite of 'raze'

...and then there's 'rays' but it's meaning has nothing in common with 'raze' and 'raise' right   :?: ? Haha!

I try to use "razing" as often as possible in everyday speech.  I learned it from playing too many military computer games as a kid. I think it is a word that is sadly neglected today.  "To raze".  And if you change just one letter, the "z", to a "c", you get "To race". And "racing" is pretty frickin' cool too!

EDIT: So I did a little entymological research.  "Raze" can also be spelled "Rase".  I don't think "Rase" is nearly as cool. It comes from the Latin (go figure) 'radere' (Vulgar Latin 'rasare'), which 'to erase'.  So, every time you think of an eraser, you can think of the cool verb "raze".  I was quite disappointed though with Oxford's German translation, "zerstoeren". That means "destroy", but I don't think it gets to the essence of the word "raze".  So, I think I can do better. We use "ausradieren" as "erase", and I think that this would suffice.

I realize we've deviated from the thread topic.
