I know jay has seen what has been going on on vortex about me.  I don't understand how hateful people can be.  Dan please keep your comments to yourself in this one.  Can anyone else explain to me how people can be this mean to others, i mean really.  I'm being personally attacked and for no reason other then i'm the girlfriend who tried so hard to be liked.  It's disturbing to me what society has done, I'd give anything to live back in the times of commeon courtesy and respect for other human beings.

I'm usually not suprised...but this time I was. I missed the start of it...I think it was deleted...but a few of the comments were straight cold.

I do have a theory on why people are so mean though...but it involves religion and Jesus and the Satan...most people don't like that theory so I'll save it for PM if you want

Hey sarah.  I dont know what is going on and I should probably be thankful for that.  Here are some words of encouragement.  From the few times I have met you I get the genuine impression that you are a lovely, sincere hearted, car loving chick.  If that deserves verbal assault then those who dished it out need to check themselves.  I also have noticed on my few journeyings over on the TEX that a lot of posts that I see are made by little ignorant boys who have nothing better to do than compete in pissing contests.  I understand that you are not perfect, but we all need a little grace sometimes and we all definately need some love.  So here is a big hug from me!!

well, welcome back.     Not having a VW, I don't spend time over on vortex and so haven't seen the threads myself.  I guess my guidance would be to second the thoughts already posted here.  Don't put much stock in the immature comments of others.  Only those lacking in their own cofidence will resort to hurful remarks.  The comments should really be taken more as a reflection of those who make them.

Anyway, enjoy the happy place here!

The Vortex is just filled with immature E-Thugs.   I am just amazed at how "adults" can act sometimes.

I couldn't agree more...I've gotten very sick of the Regional and MKIV forums over there.  I tend to spend most of my time in the Technical, Racing, and For
Sale forums.  I am continuously amazed at the immaturity that is displayed on that site.

Sarah, I don't know the whole situation, but all I can offer is that if they are not willing to resolve this in a mature manner, they aren't worth the effort of worrying about.  People will not always be happy with who you are, but that does not give them the right to publicly deface you.  That just shows they have the maturity of my 5 year old.

Good call Ian.

I don't post over there anymore. After being banned, it's not worth it. I didn't come close to what these guys are doing.

Sorry to hear about all of the drama.  Over the past 2 months, Ive strayed from my normal sites as well, and I honestly have felt much better and been in a better mood.  Sometimes, if you hang with the wrong crowd, you get brought down, and that just ruins your whole moral values and you get up in the wrong stuff.

Im not saying thats what happened to you, but it can happen.

Now that you are back home, things will be better off then over on that other site.  Forget them, they are just self centered and immature.

Here is my suggestion....

I personally have only met Sarah and have not spent much, if any, time actually talking to her.  Therefore being a human being my defualt judgement should be that she is a great person. This is based on having no negative interaction and the positive response from others on this board whose judgement I trust.

There are a few people on this board that I would also like to spend more time talking to and getting to know.

This all leads to the obvious conclusion that we all need to get together for beer and burgers. (or margaritas and burritos  ) in an effort to broaden real friendships and forget about those that can't really handle being on the internet.

I say after DATR we roll over to Old Chicago where the weekly 719 GTGs are and have fun there.  I believe most of us are going to DATR right?

We should find a park somewhere realatively centralized and have a BBQ...Burgers, Brats, and Beers.  I can bring a BBQ, and I've been told I do a killer brat...

No Ian, you just hear it wrong...  they are saying "you're killing me you brat" j/k

yeah, a nice centralized park, one right by my place... I know 34k and awhaus would agree!   - I know Clement Park (Bowles and Wads) has grills and is a big open park.

That was the park that popped into my mind first (I'm not too far from there either), but that may be a little south and a little west for some.

The other thought that I had would be to do something at one of the resevoirs (i.e. Cherry Creek), or some place like Red Rocks...

Thoughts??

Don't let the kids over on the 'tex get you down Sarah!

The good news is, it sounds like we got a GTG going because of it. :D I'm down for anything, anywhere, pretty much anytime.

I have no idea what happened at Vortex, but I am sorry to hear of the bad posts.  Most of my experience with Sarah has been online, and I have not one bad thing to say.  I just can't wait to finally get together and have the "twins" side by side!

If availability works in my favor, I would be in!

Not to hijack this thread but has anyone thought about the nationals this July at Bandimere?  I have not been there in 6-7 years.

On the Vortex note: Everytime I post on Audiworld or Vortex, I leave with a bad taste in my mouth.  90% of the people on those boards are a bunch of losers who do nothing but slam people for anything they say.  I've gotten slammed several times myself.  I tend to laugh it off, but the good thing is...

We're having a BBQ: Woo. Sometimes bad things happen for a reason!

I have no idea what happened in this case, and I really don't know anyone on this boad personally. (Okay so I met kraut sled once, hehe 8)) but I used to be on Vortex all the time. (That was before I even knew about this place.) Like many of you, I have seen some pretty sh-tty things go down there. And more often than not, it's coming from some ignorant kid that has no drivers license, and nothing better to do but talk sh-t while hiding behind a keyboard.

The bottom line is that mean people SUCK! ...and like a steaming pile of dogsh!t, unfortunately sooner or later you are going to run in to some.

When people give you hell for something you feel is wrong or unfair, you have to be hard enough to let that sh-t roll off your back. If you let them get to you, then you've let them win. So keep your head up Sarah no matter what- anyone that doesn't like it can back the hell up.

I have to say that everyone here has been more than courteous, respectful and ever so willing to help with whatever issue may arise. The fact that someone got help with something as uncommon as a C++ issue here a few days ago (can't remeber who) is a perfect example of the selfless kindness and support I have come across here. Being from the NYC area originally, I can assure you that is not what I am used to, but something that seems to be quite common out here in CO. - I guess what I am trying to say is "thanks everyone" and that I am looking fwd to meeting you all.

Awesome, an excuse to go for burgers & beer!

Don't know what went on at Vortex, but that's a huge forum and with that many members you're bound to have more idiots.
I don't really venture on the Vortex forums, but I know on Passat World you sometimes get flamed or get some attitude with some of its members.

It's a good thing we have RMCB5: we could say what we want, we don't take ourselves too seriously, we are a fun group, and I could be a total asshole and no one will take it personally!  8)

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon!
