Anyone bought from RPI?
« on: August 19, 2003, 03:17:19 PM »
I'm thinking about a mod for my B5 and RPI has it, so far for the best price, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience good or bad with them.

And no, I will not say what I have in mind.

Thanks!

Joker, what happened?  I couldn't find the DB5 thread.  From all that I have ever heard RPI is da bomb and has great customer service.  They are the premier speed shop in western Canada...

North America.

We're sticking it to them though.  A little bit of healthy competition was in order.  Found a source from China...straight from Hella   :P

http://www.clubb5.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=54615

$317 shipped, as opposed to $345 in the original backed out deal, and definately hella better than $495 they are currently trying to sell them that.

So for all I care, they can take their market analysis and .... :!:

I'm not sure how they can justify this kind of increase, I'm thinking they think they had us because they thought that they were the only source.  Well they were wrong and now somebody else is happily getting the business they could of had.

Here is the link, if you follow this hella long thread all the way through, you'll find that they weren't very cooperative with the group buy, then killed the deal we were trying to do through a different distributor.(Eurohaus)

So from now on, trust with RPI is gone.  Even though I'll see something that looks like a good deal, I will never get over the fact that those S.O.B's probably marked the thing up by 200% or more.  Marking up is one thing, but that kind of markup is bad business in my opinion.
