 I wonder if the drivetrain will fit my 2000 Passat ...   How much are you asking for it? Is there a title of some sort?

I think the A4/A4 chassis while the same platform, is actually a bit shorter? I could be wrong though.

No. You are not wrong it is shorter by a few inches, but I am sure that something can be fabricated that can make the drivetrain work. Nip-Tuck kind of deal. It will be a hell of a sleeper though.

True, anything can be done for a price. There are a few 2.7T Passats out there. Though they are stil $20K cars and are 5 years old. :)

It would be interesting to see....DO IT!

I can easily find a 2000 S4 for about $16K (in very good shape). I buy all of my cars directly from the dealer auctions of Audi/VW credit (Manheim). But I think the whole point is to stuff that diretrain in the Passat and make a killer sports car that looks on the outside like an everyday grocery getter.

That was the same idea behind the guys who did it previously, but I don't think any of them used the 6sp. Seriously...DO IT.
