Trouble with PMs
« on: August 15, 2005, 02:16:00 PM »
My PMs seem to be sitting in the Outbox, not being sent.  I had trouble earlier with timeouts from the site (I was able to surf other sites) while trying to post a reply...any suggestions?

If your PMS are in the Outbox that means the people that they have been sent to have not read their PMS. They will stay there until the recipient opens the PM then it will move to your sent box.

Unfortunately most of us are accustomed to how e-mail clients work, this is just a little different. If you delete messages from your outbox, it will delete them from the recipients inbox before they read it.

Sounds like they are working properly, sorry you are having timeout issues. Sounds like cookie problems possibly.

Ah, you're right, that is different than client based email.  Although, makes it easier to recover from "missent" PMs.  Thanks!!

And it was just that one time with the timeout...since then I've had no troubles.

Ok good to know. Yeah, it is a common question because it doesn't seem logical. ;)
