This will show him that he should leave us waiting.  I'm still going to feed his parents to him.  Do you like it, Do you like it Jack.  I called it Mr. and Mrs. Spicoli Chili.

I am laughing so hard.   I am still at work and haven't gotten home to take photos of the car yet.  It is a Quantum Syncro.

The thread was all about being funny and just joking around... and since everyone (including vortex) got so curious it just amplified the humor.  I am at work and can barely hold my shitass grin back.

The car is in really good condition for an '86, it is silver wagon, etc... but it is still just a POS daily driver.  I have very little invested in this car.  I will put a little into it and fix it up a little and hopefully make a little money on it (if I ever sell it).  I "needed" a daily driver where i didn't care/worry about it and something I can put my bikes into easily and then the 4WD helps with winter because I don't have to buy as nice of tires for winter and don't beat up my mk4 (plus with that hp it can be a bit to drive when it is super slipperly).

The whole S8 thing was just a joke.  It wasn't saying it was really a better car, more just playing up the non-necessary hype.

Student loan:  It pays for school, it pays for insurance... but the rest of my money comes from not eating out much, not drinking, not smoking and I get payed decently even though it is a bike shop.

I thought you bought some hot new car (T-reg, A4 Avant, etc.), making you the owner of two cars I'm really jealous of.

I couldn't even get a student loan when I was school (worked my ass off) while some of my classmates got huge loans and used it pay for their cars while their folks still supported them.  The irony is that I graduated debt-free and able to put a down payment on a new condo.

Congrats on your "beater", sounds like a fun project.  Good money saving move too since you could tell your insurance that it's your primary vehicle.

I remember my first car which was a real beater.  The crazy stuff I did in the Canadian winters (it was RWD), and getting back at double parkers by wedging my boat next to them -- it was a hoot.

Well I got a decent amount of money behind me when I was young.  when I was 19 I bought a condo for cheap in Ken Caryl... then the area boomed a year later and sold it at the peak of that boom.  I ended up making a good amount of money on it in a couple years time.  I actually made my morgage, electric, Excel, and internet bills for the time there plus some.  So I pretty much lived for there for free... now my condo is for sale again (well 3 months ago it was) for the amount I sold it...

As far as the student loans...  well I just recently decided to pay for school with them instead of out of pocket so I would have more play money (for my car and so I can save to get a house sometime in the next year).  Since I can get all my school payed for with subsided loans, it is so worth it.  No interest until I finish school and when I am done I won't have that big of a loan to pay so I might be able to pay it off within a year or less.

As far as the hot car... well that was part of the trickery.

Can't wait til it's my time to play the guessing game for my new ride (though most of you would probably guess what it's going to be by now).

I was thinking about how cool and efficient it would be to take a Honda Hybrid engine and put it into an F-350 dualie!

Alan, I can't wait to see you on a new ride.  I can see you are anxious, I'm excited for when you get one.

"POS Daily Drivers" are good!  they can be fun 'cause you can abuse them without feeling too guilty.  Looks like you had a good find there though!

I am really happy with it.   And as far as having fun and slightly abusing it... ask Jay (gietl) about my entrance...  skretching the tires and generally driving it like it is a rally car
