mmmmm, beer. moving. What a combo!
« on: August 26, 2005, 07:09:42 PM »
(updated: 2005-08-31) Where to go:
This lot is probably closer, but you could also go here.  Give me a call before coming over: my number is: 720-221-7650

I might be over at the new place, either way that phone number will find me.

Address of old place:
2840 W. 116th Pl #204
Westminster, CO 80234

Address of new place:
1080 Opal St. #103
Broomfield, CO 80020

--------------------------------

As some of you know, I'm moving in the next couple of weeks. I plan on borrowing a truck (standard pickemup variety) and moving most of it myself during the week, but on the 10th (of september for those just joining us from alternate space/time continuums) I need to get the larger items that need 2 people or more. So I'll be getting a larger uhaul for those, and if anyone cares to join in the fun there will be pizza and beer at Woody's in Broomfield afterwards in exchange for your trouble.

That's where I'm moving to: Woody's in Broomfield. The dumpster out back. Living space is small, but can't beat the location!

Not really. This is the move - going from Westy to Broomfield.

Things that will need to be moved that day:
- washer and dryer (unless I sell them between now and then - not likely)
- sofa
- desk
- entertainment center (smaller variety, not huge)
- couple of dressers and bookshelves.

awesome. Thanks mang. I can't imagine it taking very long. I really don't have much stuff once the junk is out of the way.

BTW - bought a new MAF for about $90, I'll put it in this weekend.

I am probably not going to be much help as I will still be in landscaping hell.  However, if you have something with a hitch, you can feel free to borrow my 5x8 Trailer.  it will haul 3500 lbs of stuff.  I also have an appliance dolly if you need it.  Oh yeah, and boxes we have lots of boxes if you need any.

Sorry, but I'll be at a client picnic that day, and ....whoa....the Rockies game that night.  But ooooh, how I love Woody's.  Pizza, that is.

Woody's and Skirts. Cool thread.
Charles, I can give you a hand for about the same timeframe as Ian. We're heading up to Ft. Funnel Cakes for an Oscar Wilde play that evening.

sweet. I'm probably going to take Wednesday off work since I have to be there between 15 and 17 to wait for the comcast dood - who will prolly show up at 1501. Might as well move all I can before 1500, then unpack stuff as I wait.

Revised schedule for anyone willing to join in the festivities:
- all day labor day
- wednesday till 15 (and maybe some after 18 )
- thursday after 18
- friday after 18 (I'm hoping there won't be anything left by this point)
- saturday (large items) 9 to 12

Thanks a ton for anyone willing to help out. Food and drink will be provided! :)

Ok, here's the updated plan: I'm borrowing my friend's grand cherokee to haul small stuff, and it has a hitch, although I need to find a ball somewhere. The current occupants will be out of there sometime Saturday, 1900 at the latest so that is when I'll take the first couple of loads of smaller stuff, then I'll spend all day sunday moving small things as well - boxes and such, don't really need help for this, but if anyone wants to join in I won't turn you away. ;)

Monday (Labor day) I'm going to try and move the big stuff - depending on trailer availability. Andrew, if its available, I'll find a ball for the hitch somewhere and can come get it - let me know. I'll come bearing Frankincense, myrrh and Newcastle - ok, maybe just that last one. :)

Thanks again everyone!

Yep, you can use the trailer on Monday, but if you can pick it up Sunday afternoon or evening, that might be best for me 'cause I am not sure of our Monday plans yet.

as for the ball - the trailer place next to sil-ter-har in broomfield should be a good place for you to look.  this trailer has a 2" ball.  it also has a standard 4 pin electrical connector - depending on the grand cherokee's electric hook up, you may need a converter too.

PM me with your e-mail and I'll get you directions out to our place.

You can also borrow my "ball"...god that's odd...

Or, if you want, we can use the 4runner on Monday also, which already has a 4-wire hookup...I can swing by on sunday and pick up the trailer.

the Jeep has the standard towing package, so i'm guessing its wired as well. I could run down and borrow your um... "ball" sunday, which would be less driving for you.

I'll be at the Rockies game on Sunday; roughly 12:30 to 5:30pm...any time outside that would be perfect.

depending on the year, it might have an 8 pin round connection rather than the 4 pin straight one.  just take a look to be sure.  you wont want to drive without turnsignals and lights.  I only have an adapter from 4 pin to Audi's weird 13 pin round european plug.  that'll only help if you are towing it with another allroad, or a range rover.   :(

I may be able to use my father-in-laws Dodge Ram, as well as pick up a trailer if you need more moving capacity.

I really don't have too much big stuff, but more hauling room means fewer trips - even though the trips are 5 miles one way.

Here are some measurements for the stuff that will need to be moved via trailer or pickup if available:
- washer/dryer
- entertainment center (roughly 3'x2.5'x5')
- bookcase (1'x6'x6')
- 3 dressers, 2 normal sized (2.5'x2'x4'), one antique, bigger and more awkward)
- 7' sofa
- big maple kitchen table 5.5x2.5 or so

So if you have a truck and can drop by on monday to help then come on over!

In addition to not having a ball, the cherokee is also missing the correct electrical plug - it has a big honkin 7-pin plug, and I could buy an adapter for $15 to go to 4 pin... or... Ian, you still interested it taking a little trip to Brighton Sunday with your 4runner? :D

Jon: if there is still stuff left on Wednesday I'll let you know. Depends on how much I can get moved over the weekend.

Thanks
