Octdubberfest - Saturday, October 15th, 2005
« on: September 22, 2005, 04:46:50 AM »
From the 'tex, I am planning on going:

Quote
"It's never to late in the season to have a good old-fashion Denver car show and relaxed GTG..."

The first ever Rocky Mountain Octdubberfest will be happening Saturday, October 15th, 2005 @ 10:30am
We'll be having a nice car show, BBQ, raffle, and post drive for the event.

This event will be taking place at McDonald VW & Audi on 6000 Broadway in Littleton.
There will be volunteers directing participants into the front lots; we have a ton of space.

McDonald Volkswagen + Audi
6000 South Broadway
Littleton, CO 80121
800-540-9318

Event information:
* Show is free to participate.
* Some BBQ food is brought by McDonald, please bring donations to help support if you eat!
(would consider providing some of your own food for the grill)
* Raffle Ticket proceeds ($1 each) will go to Katrina + Rita victims.
* Music / entertainment will be provided by a live DJ.

The event is planned to last till at least the mid-to-late afternoon.
A drive towards the foothills is expected after the event winds down.

NOTE: We're asking anyone who can help volunteer with pre-set, parking, clean-up, or whatever please speak up.
Please contact Sterling (grnhornet2001) right away to help assist in final arrangements.

ALSO: we're asking local tuners of the Denver, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs and the surrounding communities to come together.
We're hoping to acquire small or large raffle prizes; your generosity will be greatly appreciated and noted.

This means anything on the other side of the Atlantic pond is welcome!
This event will be posted on the following: VWVortex.com / AudiWorld.com / AudiZine.com / 20vTurbo.com

Please post if your going; I'll do my best to keep track and update a list as it formulates.

Questions, concerns, comments? Feel free to IM myself or Sterling!

Special thanks go out to:
* McDonald Automotive Group

DO it ;) That would rock! I love those cars. I wish Renee would have got the R instead of the base.

Love the S60R -- especially with the unique R leather interior (two tone navy or the yummy natural saddle leather which is supposed to wear like a vintage club chair), seeing a S60R with the stock beige leather interior is such a waste, IMO.  The interior is showing its age (nothing a nice aluminum trim kit couldn't fix), and I believe the S60 is due for a restyling soon.

I'm hoping the S40 will come out with a R version, or better yet, the new  C40 (hardtop convertible) that will be available this spring.  Evolve Tuning does an awesome job modding Volvos, but they are extremely expensive (just like Oettinger).

oh, not to go off topic,
I think I'll could make it to this event.
It's going to a good cause.

One used S60R in stock but with the Gobi Sand interior. However, they do have three of these in stock...

...and no, I'm not really going to do this. I like having expendible cash more

Back on topic.

I know Sterling needs help/volunteers.

I'll be there, I am hoping to have my HIDs back together this weekend or at least for this event.

I'm expecting friends from out of town in the afternoon, so if the drive doesn't start too late I'll probably do that too.

Hmmm.... I may be doing the same thing. FedEx just dropped off 2 of the 4 new wheels :-( Oh so sad.

I asked the FedEx guy where the other two wheels were... his repsonse "I dunno, maybe tomorrow". Hooligans I'll tell ya. Almost had to lay down the beating.

SE Tuning is going to be knocking $100 off of the first 5 chips bought at this thing... I personally think it is HILARIOUS that both APR and Revo chips will be bought and installed at a dealer... hide those VINs boys and girls!

Well how was it?  I woke up yesterday and was getting ready to leave when I was notified by my fiancee that her parents were in town and would be over between 11 and 11:30.  I gues they were mad I wasn;t at dinner Friday night (Hockey game) and she didn't know about the show.

Needless to say I am pretty unhappy, yesterday was a beautiful day. I certianly hope it was fun for everyone. Did anyone here win anything int he raffle?

I think there is some higher power preventing me from ever going to any sort of event.

The show was a lot of fun.  There was a great turnout and the dealership was great.  They provided food and plenty of parking.  They showed off their RS6 and European Toureg V6 TDI 8O

There were a lot of people taking pictures, so hit the Vortex and look at them.
