Newest Garage Modification
« on: September 22, 2005, 08:15:48 PM »
As it stands of this morning....my new Garage...3 car.  Will be tall enough for a lift, so in a couple of years, the lift will be installed...I hope ;)

Keep your eyes open for my "garage" sale in the garage sale section, as I will be selling my old garage (where I live now), but it happens to be attached to a house ;).  So, if anyone knows of anyone that is interested in a well kept 3 bedroom house in Westminster, most of you know this house, let me know.  $300 referral bonus to you if they buy the house and you put them in contact with me :)  as the MLS listings are up, house on the market next Tuesday, I will post a link in the garage sale section.

anyway, on to my newest mod...my new garage :D

Looks nice! Can't say I agree with your choice in flowery window dressings... but *whatever*

What that room needs is a couple of pink chairs. I can hook you up.

the image of the plan has a lot of other writing on it that takes away from the actual floor plan, but we are using that to designate areas for hardwood and carpet...mostly hardwood...they use this diagram for price break downs.

Also, our floor plan is the reverse/flip of the one in the images....which I prefer for our lot, puts the deck higher up on the property...better view of the Parker Valley.

haha....too funny.  Thank goodness that is only in the model, and as far as I know, Betsy is not too much into the flowery window covers.  I guess time will tell though ;)

the cool thing is the master is almost half the upstairs, and it has that reading room with the 3 sided fire place.  I totally dig that, and the stairs, and the massive deck we are having put in outside, etc.

Great house.  My brother-in-law is having the exact same model built at Alper's Farm (Littleton I think).  I am always a sucker for the spiral staircase.

nice place.  very useable floorplan.  one of my really good friends recently purchased one from a different builder, but with roughly the same floorplan.  Theirs is great.  cant wait to see yours.

Oh, and the passport is allways ready.

(Just remember though you will actually be much further east than I.)

thanks guys.

Winston, yeah, Betsy and I are building this house together.  not many have met her, but a few from the club have.

Jack, you can do what I do, we have a shortage right now, and if you already have a Bachelors degree, you can do what I do within a year...well, almost what I do....pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant.  Plenty of skills to learn there, long hours, and believe me, I work my ass off.

Jason, thanks man.  I wish they had the lift option...what the heck is with builders these days....sheesh.   I did get the builder to throw in granite counters, air conditioning, and sound system prewire...as well as a bunch of money credited to the design center.

Thats awesome!  It is funny how when you meet the "one" how suddenly everything becomes different... including your house!  Gen and I are in the middle of our kitchen remodel... strange, I still don't remember anyone asking me :)  Anyways, sounds like you worked out a good deal with the builder, any reason why you choose Parker (don't get me wrong, I think Parker is a great area, just curious)

I might be hosting a garage day or 2 in the future, but not sure when.

Jason, yeah, it is cool how things turn out.  and I too am happy for you and Gen.  I read about your kitchen upgrade, you should take some pics for us and show us the progress.  It sounded like a MAJOR overhaul.

We chose Parker because that is where Betsy works....she is a horticulturist and works for the city as the Parks Supervisor.  It will be nice since her work is only 5 minutes from the house.  Since I work off shift...traffic for me is not an issue.  Betsy also grew up in Parker, so she knows it well.  Between the 2 of us, we have a ton of family and friends down in that area, so it made sense to head down that way.

Anyway, I am totally excited, but for the northender folks I hang with now, this is gonna be a huge change.  I have been in this area since 1977, not this house, but this area, gonna be hard to make the change....but I know it will be awesome once we are down that way.

I love how the builder's marketing department names their models: "Bradbury Hills, Adventure Collection"

Jon, I didn't know you're such an adventurist!
The adventure collection should have a climbing wall instead of stairs!

Congrats, can't wait to see it when it's done.

Dude, it's all about the adventure with me.  The adventure from my bed to the couch, to the garage, to the fridge.  You never know what spiders or other bugs you might come across. :)

the home we are in now is called "Festival Series", and this house plan is called the "Mardi Gras".  Go figure ;)

Also, I don't think our new house looks anything like a Blue Mesa.........
