Need to borrow a helmet
« on: October 26, 2005, 08:13:36 PM »
Wasn't sure if this is off-topic or general discussion, but it is about my car, in a roundabout sort of way...

My wife is going to be autocrossing my car next season (and perhaps the winter as well).  We're trying to determine if she would better fit in a small or extra-small helmet.  Does anyone have either of these she can try on for size before we order one?

Thanks,

Ian

My wife has an extra small shoei you could stop by to try on.

of course, between your house and mine you will pass about 7 motorcycle shops all of which will also have ones for you to try.  but, if you want to come on by, let me know.

Thanks!  I'll see what she wants to do.  I personally feel guilty going to a shop to try on helmets knowing we're ording something off the internet.

Just out of curiosity, do you know her hat size?

no idea, sorry.  Been married for almost 10 years, and that is something that hasn't come up.

Man it is all down hill for you now.  Not knowing a vital piece of information like that can spell disaster.

Back on topic - I have a large, so I am of no help.  However Excel Motorcycles on Colfax has a good selection if you want a short drive to try on lids for Meagan.

Since I don't want to end up in disaster, I went ahead and asked what her hat size is.  her response was. "I have no idea - why the hell would I know something like that?".  Hehe, I guess I am not in trouble for not knowing.

BTW, Ian, this is a bad weekend for us, so if you need to stop by up here, it will probably have to be sometime next week.

I think it's Pontiac...?? It's about 1/2 mile east of Monaco.

You can also check Performance Cycle on Broadway just north of Evans. They have a good selection of helmets too

I only have an extra large helmet for my big mellon

Thanks all!  Andrew, we're not in a huge hurry as the season probably won't start until December at the earliest, more likely January.  Megan will be up in the area (120th & I-25) the evening of November 3rd working a "crapping" (scrapbooking) event until 9pm.  Perhaps after that we can swing by...I'll talk with her about it.

the shop near colfax and wadsworth has a pretty good selection too. Plus they are big enough that the people working there never seem to talk to the customers unless you ask for help. So you could probbaly go in, try some helmets on and leave without anyone even talking to you.

their customer service sucks, but in this case it might actually be a good thing.
