Jack (Spicoli) - 2003 VW GTI 1.8T
« on: November 22, 2005, 12:35:19 AM »

I bought a 2003 VW GTI 1.8T with black leather, and winter package, new from McDonald in January 2003...  I love the look of the european 25th anniversary and the US 20th anniversary.... so I have created my own version that I wish VW would have released.  I pretty much have a 20th interior, seats to come in the next year or two and a 25th exterior.

Exterior:
OEM HID (painted like 20AE w/rheostat)
--- 4300k HID bulb, Osram Silverstar H7, Yellow H6W city light
Rewired the City lights as my DRLs
OEM Lexan headlight covers (use sometimes)
OEM euro R32 tails
Rear fog light
42 Draft Design white license plate LEDs
MHW Carbon badgeless grill
Hood and bumper notch filled
European front & rear rebars
European front & rear bumpers
Euro 25th Anniversary front lip (like 20AE, but for euro bumpers)
Euro 25th Anniversary hatch spoiler
Euro 25th Anniversary side skirts
Euro 25th Anniversary rear valence
20AE black side mirrors
OEM Blue tinted, heated Aspherical (blind spot) mirrors
OEM black rear VW emblem with housing color matched
OEM Aero wipers w/ Polo rear wiper
OEM Temp sensor
OEM sharan antenna
15% tint

Interior:
OEM Black headliner (OEM parts)
OEM black leather stubby middle headrest
VW R brushed Al shift knob & boot
VW R (R32) steering wheel
Euro high pixel MFA (R32 needles)
Rheostat
Euro 25AE pedals & dead pedal
Euro 25AE door sills (red GTI w/dots)
20AE brushed Al dashtrim (#1903) w/ashtray
20AE brushed Al door handles, triggers & lock pins
20AE brushed Al handbrake button
Center Console w/cup holders between the seats
AWE/Omori perfect match boost gauge w/column pod
Jetta dash vents (wired to light up)
42DD pure white interior LED lights
R floor mats (with new oval lock downs)
Euro Light Switch (rear fog only) w/ LED mod for fog ON
OEM First Aid kit
OEM tow rope
OEM warning triangle

Stereo:
Alpine 9835 deck
Alpine Sirius receiver
Alpine iPod adapter
Alpine Type-R 10" Subs (2 Qty)
Infinity Kappa 6.5" Speakers w/ Tweeters
Rockford Fosgate 4-channel amp (T5002)
Rockford Fosgate mono amp (T10001BD)
Monster Cable capasitor, XLN speaker cable, 2 & 4 channel RCA (410XLN)
2 layer false floor

Engine, Trans & Exhaust:
APR Stage 3+ kit (91/93/100/104)
APR turbo-back 3" exhaust 20AE tip (cat & muffler)
Forge Race diverter valve (black)
ECS Tuning N75 "Race" valve
Dual side mount intercooler setup, w/ Forge SMICs
Neuspeed Lower IC pipe
Audi TT fender liner vents
Carbonio carbon fiber engine cover
VF-Engineering engine mount (dogbone)
VF-Engineering transmission mount (driver side)
VF-Engineering engine mount (passenger side)
O2M (6 speed) transmission
R32 short shifter linkage
Quaife LSD 02M
disabled ASR/EDL

Suspension, Wheel & Tire:
H&R RSS Coilovers (570#F - 400#R)
SPC camber bushings
ECS Tuning Polyurethane Control Arm bushings
ECS Tuning Polyurethane Rear Spring Perches
Autotech 25mm front swaybar (soft setting)
Neuspeed 28mm adjustable rear swaybar (stiff setting)
Autotech adjustable endlink for front swaybar
Autotech front lower strut tie-bar
APR/carbonio black carbon front upper strut tie-bar
Eurosport rear upper tie-bar (black)
20AE front & rear calipers (red) w/splash guards
Crossdilled and Slotted Rotors w/Ferodo 2500 pads (ECS Floating F & Brembo R)
Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines
Motul 600 brake fluid

Future plans:
- APR Motorsports Intake manifold (honed and polished).  Comes with larger throttle body (end of December)
- Big Brake Kit.  Most likely ECS 13.1 Stage 2v2 (Porsche Boxter S fronts) w/ 12.1 rears (by spring at the latest, december at the earliest)
- Carbonio 3" CAI made for Stage 3+ cars w/ flow straightener built into it (as soon as it is released)
- Wheels, unsure right now.  I like Kinesis K27 (17x8), and BBS RS-GTs (18x8), or maybe a VW Bravo (17x7.5).  I like BBS mesh look and 5 spokes.  I like the ride of 17s, but love the look of 18s.
- Shave Door things.  Sometime after I have a house and garage so I don't have to worry so much about door dins.
- W8 interior thing (black from eurotech)
- Seats, I am not 100% sure yet... but I'm about 90% sure I'm going to get Sparco Milano Prestige and have seat heaters added to them.  I might recover the middle section with a suede.  Definately doing black leather.  I'll most likely have the rears recovered with matching leather.
- Some sort of 4 point harness that is quick release like the Schroth seatbelts

That's one hot GTI, and that color looks awesome.
I see you in your car once a while around the hood, but just for a very brief moment.  8)

You know how I feel about your car. :D

The devil may be in the details, but it's all the little things that I love about what you've accomplished.
Two big thumbs up as always!

Jack's car is very well put together.  I had the pleasure of riding along for some laps at SCR this month and it was amazing.  In addition to the excellent car, Jack is a very skilled driver - the perfect combination.

Thanks for all the kind words guys.  I am not one who does things for other approvals, but it is still nice to know others like your taste, especially those I consider friends.

New photo.  Did some interior LEDs (white) and license plate LEDs, I love them.  I also have a nice spot for my 1st Aid kit and tow rope.  It looks like it was designed for it.  I'll have to see where to put the triangle when I get it.
