Where to get a flywheel resurfaced?
« on: March 22, 2006, 02:36:43 PM »
The Oodi needs a new clutch soon, and since this weekend is opening weekend at PMI, I might need one really soon.  From what I have read on AudiWorld, South Bend DXD makes a good clutch for the 1.8T A4's in 5 different stages.  I was considering purchasing and installing a lightweight flywheel while I was under there, but to quote Mike at SB, "I highly recommend using the stock flywheel over a L/W for highway travel."  So, I need to get my FW resurfaced.  Where can that be done?

I am in Colorado Springs, buy I may have to drive some to get it done.  Basically, if you know of a place that will do a dual mass FW, post it please.

And just for the fun of it, this is/was what I was considering:
South Bend OFE Stage 3 with (now without) an Unorthodox LW Flywheel
here
OR
ECS Tuning Stage II RS4 V6 conversion with LW Flywheel
here

I've had PepBoys resurface flywheels for me before.

Really?  That's a surprising place.  I did not know they had that capability.  I'll give them a call.  Thank you Ian.
