Nice, please do, we can host the videos here if they are trimmed down and wmv (web friendly) otherwise they can be posted on youtube.com.

Ok so I'm home and I have to say I had a great time. It was good to finally meet some new faces (briefly anyway) too!

So with the Subie in "stock" mode (my chip is in the mail getting reprogrammed at Cobb tuning) I planned on making 1 run, and ended up doing 3!!!

My first run was hysterical...LUCKY guy that I am, I got lined up next to a "PRO" class Chevelle. Yeah...I said PRO CLASS Chevelle...So picture this>>> Old guy in a Chevelle, full roll cage, numbers and decals on the side, nascar netting on windows, giant blower sticking out of the hood, and of course, HUGE drag slicks on the back...

His eff'n car was so loud I couldn't concentrate at all!!! I totally tanked on the start. (Can you say intimidated!?) The light turned green and he practically PULLED A WHEELIE and disappeared!! LMAO!!!  8O

All I remember was looking down the track and seeing his ET appear (through his vapor trail) 11.2secs@113mph!!!! just as I got passed the HALF WAY point!!!...so yeah he PP'd all over me.   I ran a 16.4@88.5  that time...I was crackin up the whole time down the track though!

The 2 other runs I ended up running against a young kid in his Mustang GT. He had a chip/exhaust and just replaced his tranny and rear end so it was set up for the 1/4 mile. Of course I managed to screw up the start on every run (I discovered that trying to launch an AWD drive car on a STICKY track WITHOUT burning the clutch too much is hard as hell!)

I would rev to 3000, drop the clutch (because I'm an idiot and kept forgetting to slip the clutch) and bogg the damn car out because I didn't want to slip the clutch too much. It would then start buckin' like a bronco....DAMMIT!!!! (I was annoyed with myself LOL) But basically I was trying to go easy on the clutch, so oh well. I'm happy I didn't break anything at least.

I ran 16.3@91.98mph for my 2nd try and 16.1@90.12 on my 3rd try (I hit the damn rev limiter in 3rd gear on my 2nd run too LOL) So I am true rookie what can I say? It was awesome though...I'd do it again in a second. There were some CRAZY cars and bikes there. I shot some video so I'll try to post it up sooner or later.

Lots of nice cars...a new viper, callaway twin turbo vette, Hayabusa's everywhere. Lots of "Better Off Dead" Camaros and classic muscle cars and SO many Subies (All WRX/STIs) One in particular had 440HP at the wheels (the turbo was about the size of a bowling ball!) I think he ran a low 12 sec 1/4, while shooting flames out his exhaust!!!

I may have to go back next week...hehe

PS Josh it was good to meet you in person finally!

I took a few pictures (close to 200) tonight, before I had to leave.  Here is one of my favorites:

I've been working on panning, and I got this one pretty good, I think.

I'll work on getting the rest up.

It was really run. Unfortunately, it was kind of a flop for all of us. My situation was that on my way to my test, I noticed all my friggin' dash lights going off and knew I didn't have brake lights. Checked it and it was so. I called Osborne and they had me bring it down. They couldn't fix it that day so they rented me a car. I paid $7 to upgrade to an '06 Charger

Bandimere was fun. Here's a tip too...if you don't want to drive your car. Find someone who will let you drive theirs and you only have to pay $10. Of course, you might want to help with the $30 your buddy paid since he's letting you in on run time. I didn't feel right about running the Charger so I was going to run Ian's car with him, but I'll let him fill you in on why he only did...one run I think.

The snowmobile was there and was sub 10. That Gremiln was INSANE cool also running sub 10. The other cars varied from 17-12. Two cars suprised the crap out of me: the first was an almost stock looking [new] Camero putting down sub 12 thereabouts and one beat to crap teal Honda/Acura thing laying down sub 12s- he had a big pink "Shocker" sticker on the back of his car. If you see him, don't race him, his looks beat up, but it's all engine.

Good times. I wish I could have run my Jetta, but I'll do that next time- looking forward to doing it again! BTW: Good job Randy on Chucks car...he spanked another Camero...it was pretty funny.

Hey, that's my car!  What an awesome picture, do you have a larger version I can have?  Can I use it as my sig?

Here's some videos and my slip, if they aren't up when you clip, they are uploading still.

WARNING!!!  THESE VIDEOS ARE 18-40MB.  Please right-click and "save-as" to view.  Thanks!

My fastest slip

Jim vs. Cuda?

Me vs. C6

Me vs. Race Civic

14.2 in cab (I'm getting spanked)

My best time was 13.555 which I was pretty pleased with.  I have a stock intake/exhaust and my car is almost silent which made it really fun when beating all those cars that looked and sounded so much faster!  I'm sure it was the quietest 13 second car there!

Had a total blast guys, thanks!

Ian that is an awesome pic!!

I'm pretty sure I got some video of that yellow S4 running against a camaro? I also got Josh in his GTI, and the guy (Scott I think?) with his black 8 cyl Phaeton.

Good stuff!

gollygwagen - I took a bunch of your car.  Yellow is much easier to photograph when it's overcast.  I have probably about 20~25 pictures, all around 2.6MB is size.  I can burn a disk for you and we can meet up somewhere or I can mail it to you.

Thanks for the comliments on the photo everyone.  Here's the Gremlin JR's talking about:

I only did 2 runs.  My first was a 14.772.  My second I missed a shift from first to second and did a lot of grinding.  At the end of the run I couldn't shift it back into first.  When I finally was able to, it felt like the shifter wasn't going as far into gear as all the others.  I got home and did the cable adjustment/alignment on it, and it seems to have helped a little, but not much.  I haven't had an opportunity to take it out and drive it and see how it feels yet.

Think I'll stick to autocross.

It was nice meeting Ian, Gutz, TurboDub, gollygwagen, and some Audiworld guys.

JR it is always fun to hang you ;)

Ian and I got to race eachother twice which was way fun, but he kicked my ass even when he missed second gear :D  I hope your tranny is ok Ian?

Gutz is way way consistant on his time, I was impressed!

I waited for about 30 minutes to see TurboDub run the subbie, but I wanted to make one last run so I did get to see you again.  It sounds like you had alot of fun :)

Well I was disappointed with the GTi just because there is no way to launch it with the DSG transmission.  They need to put some type of launch control on it just like everyother car out this with an automated manual.  The DSG has taken the fun out the 1/4 mile for me :(  I will go again, but I will take my TDI Passat wagon out, at least I CAN power brake it :)

I made a total of five runs with my first and second one getting the best times of 16.190 @ 87.61 & 88.54 and MPH.  Both  times were exactly the same and against Ian :)  I don't know what the odds on that are.

Ian's best time out of his two runs was a 14.774 @ 94.99 MPH and it was his first run, so he could have gotten a better time I am sure if it was for a little problem.

I think I am going to go autocross the GTi with Ian coming up in May.  If anyone wants to go back out to bandimere I wouldn't mind going again just in a different car ;)

My match-ups went as followed:

14.322 vs. no one - Worst time of the day, and of course the one you got a picture of! ;-)

14.227 vs. 12.458 drag prepped C5 Vette. KILLED ME. His trap speed was 89 mph so I think he coasted the second half of the track!

13.997 vs. 14.352 C6 Vette. I wouldn't have held him off for a 1/2 mile! (have video)

13.854 vs. 14.157 Race Civic. This thing was FAST but couldn't get it down in the start. He was closing faster than the Vette! (have video)

13.555 vs. 15.990 LS1 Camero. This was the -kill- of the night. I don't think he knew what hit him.

13.796 vs. 15.100 STI. I was really interested in how they would compare. There was a young girl driving it and her boyfriend riding. It did have a .003 R/T and 2.198 60' so it she didn't do bad. This was my first "burn-out" start of 3 in a row, but my fastest trap speed of 101.76.

14.302 vs. 17.435 new Dodge Cummins. Big time wheel slip, thank got it was vs. a truck!

14.181 vs. 13.234 drag Nova on slicks. My other loss and even though I dropped the revs I was getting big slip. Considering how the other car looked and sounded I was pleased to be that close.

Josh's post got me curious and I found this great NHRA web page for adjusting your times for altitude!

Looks like my 13.555 would have been a 12.574 using that chart.  I can deal with that! :-)[/url]

My best run was 16.190 @ 88.54 MPH which means I put down 172.8 hp to the wheels to get that time.  That is calculated with the weight of the car with me in it (Bandimere has a scale i used).

Didn't get any, her BF was hovering closely, otherwise i woulda tried to at least get some launching tips from her     8)  .... .03! Damn she is quick!  8O

I don't know much about how the ET vs speed translate into the driver's vs the car's performance. My car and the STI both hit about 92 mph, but the STI's ET was 1 second quicker. So if 2 cars hit the traps at 92 mph and one car has a 15.1 secs vs another's 16.1 secs...it that driver error(bad launch/shift etc) or superior hp/torque? Just wondering.

Also with my runs against the Mustang, my speed was better by 6mph. (85 vs 91) but I still lost by about a tenth? Are my launches that bad?? Any info would be great. Thanks!

Remember alot of cars have bad aerodynamics and are affected more at higher speeds, so they will accelerate slower for the last 1/8th mile.  Your car probably has really good aerodynamics so you wont have as much of a problem.

I noticed on your in car video you posted you were shifting slowly between gears.  You have to remember to shift as quickly as posible.  Another thing is shifting stratagies, if you are finishing the 1/4 in thrird near redline sometimes it is better to shift into forth earlier and you can get better times.  Launching turbo AWD cars is one of the hardest things to do. so it just takes time learning how to do it and a bit of luck ;)  I would assume you should be able to get around 2.0 sec 60' times.  What were your 60' times?
