Yeah, that's why I didn't claim REPOST, since that information wasn't previously available. ;)

That's a awesome deal considering it includes installation at the port of entry (which means it's probably already painted), and the wheels too.
The complete Votex kit for a B5.5 would easily cost more than that if you factor in paint and installation, and that doesn't include wheels, exhaust tips or the grille.

It's offered both as an option package or a la carte pieces from the dealership.  I don't understand the option package as you can't order a VW to your liking like you do an Audi, so it will be equipped on a few Passats of varying colors and options?  Sounds odd since this R-GT package would appeal to a select number of buyers.

I think in the next year things are going to change with how you can get your Dub, at least in Passat land. Since there has been a lot of backlash with the lack of options so far with the B6 and the inability to really customize your car I think VW is feeling the pressure to open up some more channels.

I read recently somewhere, that coming late summer or early fall, there should be a number more options available for the Passat, and this should come in the form of being able to somewhat customize your car. Meaning you may be able to finally order one up the right way.

If it is $4500 installed, painted at the factory, then I would say it isn't too bad.

If I was looking at getting a Passat, I would definately do it to have the "cool" look down from the factory.  factory is better (stronger) and then it matches "perfectly".

I'm still shocked they don't do a GT-R GTI.
