Pueblo Motorsports July 21st
« on: May 02, 2006, 01:36:23 AM »
Erik (bluefox280) on the vortex is renting the track for VW/Audi people only on July 21st (sat).

I'm bringing my Miata... so it isn't only going to be VW & Audis, but only VW/Audi people... so RMCB5 and Vortex people are the only ones who will be allowed there.

If you want to go, LMK to tell erik, or if you know erik, let him know you want to go.

Right, 'cause you'll be in Pueblo with the rest of us ;)

Ian, if you're going, I'd like to drive your car for a few laps. Pat was saying you can top out your car on a stretch and still have track left

I am interested, but that may be when my inlaws are visiting us, I'll have to get back to you.

I haven't decided if I will go or not.  I first need to clear it with the CFO.  I also still need to decide what, if anything, I need to do with the tranny.  If I do, you're more than welcome to turn a few laps.

Eric - when do we have to decide and have the money to you by?

Ian,

Does you tranny feel normal yet?  I've done the same thing in my car, so if you happen to find out the root of the problem please let me know.

I pretty much just granny shift 1st to 2nd now because if I grind it hard it's dang near impossible to get it back into 1st.  After working the shifter a little it will go back into 1st and feel normal again after a handfull of shifts.

I get up to about 110 on the front straight.  Still plenty fast for me. :)
FWIW, my car maxes out about 145.....so I've heard.

You don't really.  If you think you're going to go, let Erik know or I can tell him if you don't have a vortex account or don't know, whatever.

Mainly you just need to be on the list, the whole track is ours because there will be 10 or more people there.  You pay the day you show up, if you show up.

I haven't driven it since the event, still on the race rubber.  I may take it out this weekend and run it around a bit just to see.  I suspect that it will be the synchro gear, but I may wait until I absolutely need to break into the tranny.

Ian,  When I got my O2M I got it for $1300 shipped.  it only had 1047miles on it too.  It came with everything needed for the swap (axels, certain plumbing that was needed, etc).  The only thing that sucked was having to buy a new Quaife.  I didn't buy a new clutch or flywheel and the stock held up to all my HP.

I am just saying if you do have to work on your tranny, you might be able to get a 6speed for not too much.
