Interesting weekend.
« on: May 08, 2006, 02:58:59 PM »
An uncle of mine passed away last week and I had to drive to Iowa for the funeral Friday.  Twelve hours each way. Since the small town of 500  is 4 hours from any highway it takes 10 hours just to fly there, and rent a car for the rest of the drive.

Drove there Friday, Drove back Saturday after the funeral. There was so much driving we made the dogs drive part of it.

This picture was taken at one of the rest stops.

Then Sunday I got up and took my "Trail Clean Up" project truck up to Left Hand Canyon for a trail clean up. We took an entire roll off dumpster of trash out of the shooting area. Why can't these people understand.

On the way home from the trail clean up some "Yahoo" in a black GTI kept getting in my way on the highway. ;-)  Not totally sure the driver (a member of this board)  realized it was me.

Here is a picture of the beautiful trail clean up truck.

I want a rematch! I had one spark plug wire burned through and only 2 barrels of the carb working. I think when I am done restoring this truck the 454 can take you;-)

I was just coming back from Estes Park where I picked up a set of Recaros for... something or other I'm working on.

My new whip is a WIP, that's fer damn sure. 8)

That's some good stuff with the trail clean up. I couldn't agree with you more about some people just not getting it. I get mad enough watching people chuck crap out of their cars downtown, but when you are out hiking, camping or whatever drives you into the wild and people do it... *GRRRR* I friggin HATE that...

People, generally speaking (I know there are exceptions) just don't think beyond themselves any more.  I see that in the photos above, driving, credit card (and identity) theft, stealing in general, etc.  Makes me wonder what our world is coming to.

best looking vehicle in those photos.  It is sad how few people seem to take ownership of their messes/problems.

ahh, wife's relatives are all in the far SE corner of the state.  Must be a lot of towns like that though.
