Stupid question, I'm sure, mod sources?
« on: June 06, 2006, 08:38:49 PM »
It's been a few years since I did much modding. The A6 barely got touched.

Aside of getting things through APS are there online sources to order parts? for the B5 I knew parts4vws.com, drew parts, etc. In all this time I've never come across equivelant Audi sources.

Dumb I know, but this is what I get for getting out of the loop.

Pure Motorsport has probably the best reputation for online Audi tuning parts.

ECS tuning carries lots of stuff along with a reputation for poor customer service (some like them though) and billing issues.

AWE tuning also carries many parts.

that said, I have generally found it best to find a good local tuner you can trust, and let them source the parts you want.  might cost a little more, but is probably worth the headache.

if you are looking for OEM replacement parts, try clairparts.com for new stuff, and shokan.com for used stuff.

You may also consider checking out Audi Performance Racing, otherwise known as APR...

here are some other good resources:

www.pgperformance.com -- it's not as cheap as it once was due to the strong Canadian dollar/weak U.S. dollar (they are in Vancouver), but they have a nice selection of harder to find OEM and quality aftermarket parts and accessories.  Excellent service and help.

www.evolutionsports.com -- probably the best and cheapest source for OEM replica wheels.  They also have a great selection of Euro parts and accessories.

www.supremepowerparts.com -- a good place for engine and performance mods.

www.tmtuning.com -- great selection of Euro aftermarket parts.  They are in Europe, so shipping is expensive but they carry many European manufacturers that don't really have a distributor here.
