Will VAG-COM...
« on: June 09, 2006, 09:10:58 AM »
...tell me specifically where an airbag fault light is coming from (e.g. driver's seat, passenger, or steering wheel)?  Or, if I've had an airbag light, is the only way to clear it with a VAG-COM, as opposed to disconnecting the battery?  If either of these cases are true, does someone have a VAG-COM I can borrow, the catch being I cannot bring my car to their place?

Thanks!!

Ian

The answer is yes to all the above questions.

I can help you out, when do you need to have the light cleared by?

Ian, I'd love to help (need to repay you for the help on the swingset) but after work today, I am out of pocket until the 17th.  If you are still having issues next weekend, let me know.

I would like to have the issue cleared up by next weekend, but definitely by the 24th.  I've got new resistors (true 4.7 ohm, not stacked 10 ohm) being delivered.  I've removed the seats, as some of you may have already seen, and I've also removed the steering wheel.  I haven't seen a good answer, but I'm assuming that the resistor to fool the system is supposed to be a 4.7 ohm one there like the ones for the seats.

I am free, except for Saturday's Rockies game, anytime this weekend and next week as I am now working Midnight to 7am out of the houst.

I did Z, thanks.  Helps to clear airbag lights if you're putting the resistors in the right plug
