GO USAA!!! :D
« on: June 30, 2006, 09:57:12 AM »
I heard on 9 news this morning that USAA is dropping rates for follks living in the Denver and Boulder counties by up to 10%.  The drop is due to asome sort of efficienceis that took place within USAA.  It is supposed to take effect today.  I tried to find an article on it at the 9 news web site but did not see one.

This is all I could find.  It is from the Rocky Mountain News June 30th.

USAA to reduce auto insurance rates today

Effective today, USAA is reducing auto insurance rates by up to 15 percent for policyholders in the Denver-Boulder area. The average rate reduction is 10 percent, and the average savings $150.

Existing policyholders can get the reduced rates on renewal. Or they can cancel and renew their policies, although the company doesn't encourage that.

"Somebody certainly could cancel their policy, rewrite and get the lower rates," said USAA Spokesman John Henry. "What that does is increase the costs to the association, and it is those reduced costs that allow us to lower rates."

The company has 50,000 policyholders in the Denver-Boulder area.
