Giac and DTC's question?
« on: September 07, 2006, 11:46:58 PM »
Ok, i can't remember but.......i have a Giac flashloader which allows me to flash between stock and 91 Octane programs......i keep getting a check engine light for O2 sensor faults...Audi wont replace the sensor (under warranty) unless i go there with the check engine light on........Question, can i flash back to the stock program with the check engine light on or do i need to clear the code, flash and drive around in stock until the light comes on again....any thoughts?

You can switch back to stock with the CEL on, it will not cause any issues.

BTW - They will start "trying" to sole the issue by reflashing your ECU with a software patch increasing the testing time of the cat efficency (sp) then when that does not work, they will replace your cats.

After it is all done you will have to come back for a reflash, as the GIAC software will need to be reloaded.

Please keep us posted.
