New Testing standards for 2006
« on: October 11, 2006, 09:40:40 PM »
I don't know if any of you have heard about this.  But I noticed my Xterra went from 265hp (2006) to 261hp (2007) this year.  I was wondering what was going on.  A dealer told me that the engine is the exact same engine, but couldn't give me a reason for the drop (it is only 4hp, but I was still curious).

I did some hunting and I came across this article:

Turns out SAE has increased accuracy of testing standards for testing HP and torque.  So a lot of Japanese cars are victims of this, I'm curious to see if there are any drops in the german cars too.
