PMI Track Day Aftermath 10/20/2006
« on: October 21, 2006, 05:06:45 AM »
It started with most people arriving from 7:30-9:30. After getting a few sessions and runs in. We were approached by the track officials. They stated that they meseed up and scheduled another party for the same day. So we had to share the track in 30 minute sessions. It worked out ok, giving all of us enough time to cool engines+breaks down.

As far as my own experience, I had a blast. I learned a lot and didnt mess up too much! (Besides hitting some dirt twice and spinnig out once!). After I decided to seek more help continuously, 'til I knew i was ready, I really picked it up but was kinda' bummed that I didn't have more time left. So i got as many runs in as possibly and got the hang of it towards the end. Than 4 approached, so i packed up and came back home!

Special thanks to Josh-STI owner, Ian-R32 for helping me out. And last but certainly not least, Brian in the mini, he really knows his sh*t when it comes to road course!

BTW: Here are a few pics

Yeah, Ian posted vids on the vortex.  He shifts a hell of alot more than I do!  I was basically in 4th gear the entire track, with the exception of upshifting to 5th on the front straight.

I *really* gotta sort out the suspension on the STI.  Watching his vids you can see the car pushing wide and not turning in towards the apex...

I have springs for it in my garage, looks like I need to pick up camber plates and swaybars too.

He did that valve thing for the exhaust note, big rear swaybar, coilovers and RA1's.  I think he's basically stock motor wise.

He was scandanavianing flicking that thing around almost every corner and just drifting it through.
