I will try to be there, but may be a little late.  I have a staff meeting that ends at 11:00 up in Broomfield.  I'll get there when I can.

ohhhh, ton of snow down here, and as I was shoveling, another inch fell on the drive.  My guess, 6" already, and heavy wet snow.

I am still up for the attempt to Denver, if anyone else is gonna be there.  Let me know by 1030am, if not, I am staying home.  I expect the commute to be at least an hour that time of day, maybe longer.

pics of Parker to follow, they are importing as I type :)

the roads and people not prepared to drive on them sucked this morning.  there is no way on these roads I am making it down from Broomfield and back over a lunch hour (or little over an hour).  I'll catch you all next time.

yeah, I just drove some snow pants, hot cocoa, and a snow hat to Betsy, she is out with her crews helping them clear the snow.  we got about 2 more inches while I was out and back....NOT fun driving down here in Parker.  So, I am staying home and we will shoot for next week.

Yeah I'm sitting at home drinking nice warm coffee and just e-mailed in to work. I've got enough supplies to last a couple of weeks, I think I'm stayin' in!

Ya'll suck. But I guess I can't complain, I was home yesterday afternoon and the day before sick, but feeling 100% better and it took me TWO HOURS to get to work this morning.

Jon, does Betsy work for CDOT? I wanna drive a snowplow- hook me up! :D

No, she is the Park Supervisor for Parker.  She does drive the plows though, she has a flawless CDL record as well.  I have seen her driving the big rig...kinda cool, and she really knows how to tell the snow who is boss!!!!

Even though she is the supervisor, and could be sitting in her office, she has decided to be out there in the worst of it, hand shoveling.  She could be in a plow, or truck, but no, she is out there with the hourly wage folks, busting it out.  I am real proud of her, not many supervisors would dig in as she does.  Her crew really respects her though, her hard work pays off.

That's awesome, good managers like that are a rare breed it seems. Sadly when you have one of those good managers, they end up getting moved up so it is usually short lived.

So anyone up for broomie lunch today? Big steaming bowl of pho sounds perrrrrfect.
