October 26th Snow reports
« on: October 26, 2006, 12:26:08 PM »
Parker, 6-8", still falling, 1" new right after finishing shoveling the drive.  Puppy fun factor= 9 out of 10.  Barking at the shovel was the highlight of Chloe's morning.  These pics were taken at 750am

I just stood out in it waiting on a bus that should have come at 7:45, and at 8:15 (when the next one was due) was still not there. So I'm calling this a snow day. :)

Broomfield is a parking lot, and it only looks like 4" or so out there. I might wait a while before getting the (CLEAN) car out of the garage and heading to the pnr.

We had about 2" in the yard in Brighton.  but we had some drifts over 10" in spots too.

the drive to broomfield sucked.  the allroad with M3s on it did exceptionally well, but other idiots were sliding all over.  passed at least 20 cars that had spun out into the median.   crossing over the top of 36 the hill was icy as hell and many cars were just stopped and spinning their wheels unable to move forward.

parking lot here is being plowed now that I am in it.  this should make for a fun drive home this evening.

We had about 4 - 6 on the grass about 2 - 3 on the pavement in Centennial/Highlands Ranch border. Here in Golden it is about the same. I think there is about  3 - 4" on the pavement here.

Kona went apeshit this morning in the snow...again...:)

just got home from a little jaunt out to drop off some warm weather stuff for Betsy, she is out of the office helping her crews with the snow removal.  She does not need to be out there, but she is such a team player, she has been out with them since 630am...they got in at 4am to start.  It is way worse now than it was earlier.  I say we have well over 8" now, and it is flippin crazy.

Took some phone pics on my way....

The difference between Parker and SE Aurora must be huge. I left the house this morning at 6:50 and we only had about 3-6" on pavement/nature.
My bus was 20minutes late and by that time, my  buddy was on his way down so I jumped in with him and it still took us two hours to get downtown.

Any bets on whether Jon's trash gets picked up today? and if so, how late?

Still snowing here in Golden at the base of the foothills, really big flakes so I am guessing it is warming up. I would expect it to stop here shortly.

still a frickin blizzard here in Parker.  I just shoveled again, and had to stop.  The stuff is really wet and it seems like a huge driveway.  I got about 4/5 of it done.  and there was another inch of slush back at the top again....arrrrgggghhhh.   Chloe is loving it though, she will sleep real well tonight :).

just really blowing here, and my snow piles on the side of the driveway are about as tall as me now.

It's done here, stopped about 15 munites ago, turned to rain first for a few moments and stopped. Jon I would expect it to stop in the next 15 or so.

cloud ceiling has now lifted enough that I can see the mountains from my office window again.

got warm enough in the last hour that all the snow that had fallen on my car in the parking lot since I got here at 8:30 has now melted.  we didn't have nearly the same amount of snow up north that Jon does.  maybe 3" remaining on the grass and melting fast.

it is finally letting up here now.  Brighter outside, but no sun.  I have pictures of drifts almost to the top of the 6 foot fence across the street, and almost half way up our split rail fence in the back....I bet on average we got 10-12" out of this sucker.

Chloe is still totally having a ball, I am going to let her run around outside in the back some more to totally tire her out.  It is crazy how excited she is with all the snow.

Stu is almost 9 years old and still does the same thing.  I thought he might grow out of it, but he never did.  given the chance he'd run around in the snow for a while then go curl up in it for a nap.

My dogs have ESP when it comes to snow. The moment it starts falling they start whimpering and yowling to get outside.

now I can't get Chloe to come in, seriously, I think she is laughing as she is jumping around in the yard.  Can dogs laugh?  Like little kids giggling?  I swear that is how she is acting.  It just warms my heart and makes me laugh seeing how excited she is.
