More spammer deterence
« on: November 02, 2006, 01:21:52 AM »
Effective November 1, 2006 at 8:17pm MST we are instituting a policy of account approval upon sign up. This is a trivial change for all future valued members but will give us the opportunity to weed out the spammers prior to their posting or harvesting.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to voice them.

On a side note I have reset the arcade scores and removed a couple lesser played games. I will now reset scores on a monthly basis to try and make it more enjoyable for everyone. I am looking for a way to disable the damn PM notifications because they clog up my mail boxes since they are automagically generated.

I've tried, I do leave their accounts here and try to make their address viewable (email address that is) by everyone so the harvesters that hit the site get their email address and spam them.

They also get a nasty gram  with their deactivation email. And they usually get banned, but some spoof internal ips so no sense in banning those.

1- take the time to register at a random forum
2- post something that will irritate the users and get you immediately ejected from the system.

I think we should just do like Jay and Silent Bob and show up at each one of their door steps

+1, he takes the fun out of visiting when he dominates all the high scores.  We get the point, he is good at arcade games, now let us have a chance

Yes, but you will have to either take up or feign smoking.

I just shaved off my beard. It's growing out again though. The wife won't kiss me if it's too long ;)
