GTG to detail Jay's S, Dec 26th...since he has been sick
« on: December 12, 2006, 04:39:01 PM »
I thought it would be a small gesture from all of us to fully detail Jay's car to show Jay how much he means to us and how much we appreciate him.

I am talking about clay, buff, polish, seal, interior and exterior and engine bay detail as well.  Between all of us, we have all the supplies we need.

The 24th would work for me as well.  I am taking the 22-29 off for PTO, so I am wide open.
If it ain't broke, take it apart and fix it!

This is awesome!  Jon, this idea is great.  You guys are really gonna put a smile on his face if the morphine hasn't put one on already.  All kidding aside, I am sure he will really appreciate this and I couldn't think of a kinder gesture for the club to come up with to help Jay out.

I can't make the 24th, but any time between the 26th and the 31st would work fine for me if you want to meet during the week.

Also if there will be many of us attending, I have plenty of garage/driveway space to offer up - you all just have to drive up north.

I'll be out of town 22-28, but I'll throw down a little something or I could pass something along for his car.

oh, and if the weather is good, and if Renee agrees to steal the keys, I'd be glad to bring his K100 along so we can work it too.

I can do the 24th and the 26th....26th might be much better since it is right after the holiday, and if we do get keys, we could drive the car up to Andrew's, or down to my place, and work in the comfort of a warm garage, etc.

I am going to push for the 26th of December if we can get Jay to lend us his car and motorcycle.  I will talk to him in the next day or so and try to lock that day in.  Seems like more people would be available then, since it is right after the holiday, etc.  It is a Tuesday.

let me know what you all think.

Talked with Jay, the 26th is PERFECT for him.  He said we can have the keys to both the bike and car to transport to either my house or Andrew's house.  My house is a bit closer, so if there are no objections, we can crank it out here.

Any thoughts?  What time to start?....early so we can do a really good job, full clay bar action and interior detail as well, etc.  And engine bay if we have time.

sorry for those guys that might not be able to make it due to other holiday plans.  You will all will be with us in spirit to help Jay out.

Andrew.  We can work out a time to meet at Jay's to pick up his car then head to my house....and if the weather is tolerable, we can take his bike as well and you can ride that over here.

I need to go past your house to get to his, so might be better to meet at yours then head over together.

that would work.  We can work out the final details next week when we can tell what the weather is gonna be.

Obviously, if it is snowing or post snow and the roads are wet, it is not worth the detail and we can work out a different day.

I bet we start between 9-10 am, and most likely at my place in Parker.  I can see this taking most of the daylight hours, or at least until mid afternoon....so even if you come for half the day, that would be a huge help.   I know Jay would appreciate it :)

as it gets closer, I will PM address and directions to my place.  We can even order Pizza or go get some burgers for lunch, my treat for those helping out....and there is some beer in the fridge down stairs that needs to be consumed, so drink it up....Including some New Castle for Andrew :)

woot.  I know if I plant enough of that around town, I'll always find some.

Oh and between 9-10 is good for me, I can get there early so we can have the car and bike at your place by then.

I may bring one of our wee ones, that or may have stacie drop by with them later in the day.  we'll see.

Rob, great offer, I think we should be OK as far as supplies and PCs.  The biggest factor will be weather.  With bad weather heading here mid week this week, hopefully we can catch a break a week from Tuesday.

You guys are all the greatest. I got home last night, but I am only about 50% of the way there. I haven't started the bike in a few weeks and am in no condition to check the battery or try to start it.  My guess is that i would need to be trailered.

I have all the keys here and teh 26th is my last day of IV antibiotics so I will probably have to sty home. Again, I am so very greatful for everyone's generosity.
