computer guru needed asap
« on: January 12, 2007, 09:33:56 PM »
Got a new laptop and I cant get the wireless connection to work, only get as far as "connected to the access point, but the internet cannot be found" and thats on an unsecure netowrk, same for when I try to connect to my secured network. I know the internet connection is working since I am posting this from another computer.

I am no expert, but if the routers you are connecting to are using MAC filtering you'll get that message.  also windows usually has a checkbox for the unsecured networks asking are you sure you want to connect?  make sure you say yes.

other than that, I am out of ideas, and will leave you to the other folks smarter at networking than I.
