What color should I paint the "Trail Clean Up truck&quo
« on: February 13, 2007, 04:40:28 PM »
I have a 74 that I am building into a dedicated trail clean up truck.

I am a bit undecided on the color. I just received a Hartley TNT grill for the truck and need to make a choice on the final color of the truck.

It is tan now.

Have you noticed the amount of body work the truck needs? That would require buying all new sheet metal and then NOT scratching it on the trail or throwing things in and out of it.

Some of the colors were chosen for their ability to hide defects.

I like the Charcoal Grey Metalic option.  it would look pretty bad-ass with that new grille.

as for other options A-team Van black with red stripe.   8O

This is Rescue Green. It would be done with charcoal interior.

Are you going to be painting it yourself? If so, can I park the Scout next to it during the process so it can absorb any overspray.

Plaid is not redneck enough for an old chevy truck.  8O

Okay. Sorry this took so long. I have just not taken the time to take pics before. Sorry these are not great. Just had enough time to pull it out of the garage this morning, snap a few pics and put it away.

LET THE PHOTOSHOPING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok I am for Rescue Green but in a flat color, I mean it is a trail cleanup rig, it is rescuing the trail. Plus it is just going to get banged up with stuff.

Though the Chalkboard idea is kind of cool. Like you could list the clubs/groups/orgs participating on the side of the truck.

here is a bling-blang bright green Merl (more to come...):

and one a bit closer to the jeep pic above (trying to clean up some of the "character marks" in the current paint in the process here...):
