Carbon Dynamic Airbox?
« on: March 27, 2007, 12:25:25 PM »
One of the Volvo's at the GTG had one of these.  Pretty cool idea.  The S4 has plenty of space for one, and they make one for the AAN engine.

Does anyone have any experience with these?

Lastly, why are they "track usage only"?

have a 92 S4, and old Porsche, and some Japanese stuff sittin' in the garage.

I don't know anything about them, but maybe they don't meet emissions standards.

I would agree, it's either not 50-state DOT legal or they put that on there to protect themselves from liability in case you suck up a squirrel or a buckets worth of water with that intake  :D

I had one.  It gives a great sound (like a short ram), but unlike a short ram it sucks in colder air.  I didn't notice much of anything down low, but in 4k+ range I did notice a little better pulling.  Sound was very very good.

I liked the one I had, but I would say the performance gains are pretty minimal, like with all intakes... but this is definitely one of the better ones on the market.
